odd question, but maybe someone can help

Hello
iv always been told that if you want performance, go manual. Im wondering if there has ever been build or if someone has tried to make a performance automatic first gen RX7. i know its an odd question, but i would like to keep the car automatic(simply because i havnt seen it done and because i just want it diffrent) if so..

1. what type of tranny?
2. gear size?
3. price range?
4. being worth it in the end. (if you love it its worth it....but being practical)
5. other ideas ie. manual swap

its going to stay a true rotary, just would like to be a bit diffrent

opinions and helpful coments welcome! i am still new lol
thank you!

I like FB's with automatic transmissions, they are unusual and they're usually much better kept than the manuals. Got pics?

i havent heard of anyone building an automatic in 15 years, but it actually used to be done.

the best trans is the 79-83 3 speed trans. there used to be a place that would do a shift kit and change the converter, but i have no idea anymore who that was.

I would start calling around to all the older rotary gurus. They would know.
