The Newest Member of the Family 85 GSL-SE
It's been 20 years since i have owned a FB...I've been wanting a GSL-SE for a few years...i finally picked it up a 85 today. The stack of records that came with the car is incredible...every record dating back to 1990...The car had a complete restoration back in 1997/1998. The interior is in immaculate condition with several custom features.
The exterior isn't perfect but pretty good for being 26 years old.
I have to take care of the wondering steering wheel issue and it stalls when i am decelerating. Once i get those 2 issues taken care of she will get a new set of wheels/tires (16X7 with 215/45/16's) and a new paint job to match the 7Beast. I will probably upgrade the brakes.
The engine bay needs a little cleaning and perhaps a little bling

The body is nice.
The paint looks pretty good. (door handle and mirrors need to be black)
The "wood" trim is a trip!!
What's under the rear hatch false floor?
Congrats on a clean new ride!

Check the air filter box for that may solve your deceleration problem. Same thing was happening on my 84 5 letter and it turned out the rubber around the filter was melting due to all the heat these cars throw off and was making the "flapper door" at the MAF stick.
BTW - Nice looking car....welcome to all the headaches the GSLSE brings ! ;-)

car looks very nice. doesn't appear to be the original paint nor the original paint color. whats the two diget color code on the vin plate on the firewall? paint does look nice though and the car seems extremely clean! do you know any history on the car?
definatley different look , but nice
I love stock finishes on our 7's , but its cool when you get to see one thats a little customized. Might be a little boring if they were all left origonal . The steering wheel makes me think Jaguar

The color was changed back in 98/99. It will soon be Kaiser Silver (NSX Color...same as the 7Beast).
I have all the records back to 1990...i mean every record

I know this car, older man tried to sell it to me on two seperate occasions when I worked at Methodist Richardson. He said it was his sons and iirc he was in the army and didn't want it anymore. Both time I saw it, it idled extremely high. Still do that? He wanted like 3500 for it including the audio crap that I didnt want but he wouldn't take it out. Good luck with it, glad it made it into the hands of a fellow 7 enthusiast
