New Guy...

Hello everyone I'm a new guy here. I don't have a rx7 yet but I'm in the market for one. I was looking at getting a miata but then the rx7's caught my attention more. Mainly what I'm looking for is a 1st gen one because I like the styling of them. I've been looking around on the classifieds on here but I haven't been able to get any response from my posts yet. Is it because I'm new here or is this a slow forum?

A little about my vehicle history I use to own a sc300 5 speed with the basic bolt ons and was about to go turbo but with the purchase of my new home I had to sell it. Before that I had a turbo Mr2 and then before that I had a supercharged mr2. So I'm pretty much a toyota guy but I wanted to try something new. I've been looking around at miata's and rx7's but the rx7 caught my attention more. I'm mainly looking for a 1st gen rx7 now. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. I couldn't find a welcome section.

Pics of my last cars...All sold already so I'm sports car-less now.

I don't know what happened to these two other pictues???

Well, if you're a Toyota guy, working on 1st-gen RX7's will definitely be new for you. Old-school cars are a blast to figure out.

Well I hope that everything worksd out for you. We love when people are added to the community. Rx-7s are different, everytime I drive by another one in any generation they honk/flash light/flip up their lights/ or wave(Rx-8 owners tend to be clueless as to what you're driving though). You get a lot of stares in a classic old school car, and many questions. Mostly "what year is it?" closely followed by "so what is it?" We love to spread knowledge of the beautifully unique engine and history. There are good and bad moments with these cars but they're definitely special. I hope you can get yourself into the masterpiece that is the Rx-7 and have a good experience. Welcome .

congrats man hope you enjoy, yes they're hard to get the hang of it at first, but once you do it you'll realize "man, that easy huh?" but it's cool....

to go along with what 87 turbo said, yes there's nothing more exciting than those rare ocassions when you gotta make your friend pull over or you stick your body out the window when you see another 7 lol...you will also get asked a lot "it's that a 4/6 cylinder?"

Hahaha I like that one. I hear at first they can be nightmares though, unlike piston motors you can kind of transfer basic knowledge from one motor to another. Rotory just seems like a while new ball game.
