So I'v had this switch in my car since day one, it's under my steering wheel to the right and flips up and down with FIVE wires running to my radio, three of witch then run back out under my carpet ( brown-yellow and white. I did some digging ( literally pulled up the carpet ) and found the cables rand own the center to the rear of my car next to this box tucked away under the rear-wheel plastic cover along with a bunch of cables. The 3 wires end at a 3 point connection and are tied with a zip tie to the modulator box but is not actually connected to it. It seems my antenna isn't even plugged in and cut (which explains why my radio sounds like dog **** and the modulator box has two cables running out of it that are not plugged into anything.
The plug at the end of the 3 colored wires that are hardwired into my radio looks like this .
for now it seems I have no antenna and the modulator box is just chilling back there not plugged into anything .
Wall-mount (or panel) 3-pin XLR female connector used in pro music and TV audio systems. Def over-kill for car use, tho would work. You will need the MALE XLR to plug into this. Cheep on Amazon. But, again, there are far cleaner/smaller audio connectors that can be used in auto applications...

What exactly plugs into that though? If i plugged this cable into it and into my phone will it play music
OK so I took pictures , i really need help finding out how to use this junk /reconnecting my antenna. weird box, not connected to anything input at the end of cables under dash switch cable side profile wires that run under carpet from radio up close of switch
The last switch you posted is likely a switch to activate the power antenna. Normally the antenna would extend when the radio were turned on. The person that wired that in just needed a relay and the power antenna would extend and retract with the stereo power. Personally I would remove all of the stuff and install a modern head unit and speakers.
That little box says CB all over it, looks like an adapter or something for what might have been a CB radio? Looking at it again, I see there are little gain dials on the box. This must be a piece of hardware from someone's old CB radio. The switch is definitely an antenna switch, I deal with those at work in people's boats.....

That box isn't plugged in at all, its just back there along with a bunch of cut wires.

I want to maintain the stock look or at least have an OEM looking head unit any suggestions?
If you want tongo with the original look, I would recommend removing all of the aftermarket wiring and sourcing an originalnrsdio and amplifier set. If the original radio harness pigtails were cut, I would solder in new pigtails for the factory stereo.
In my 85 that I built in 2008, I installed an Alpine head unit that I bought new in 05. I waited for the right car to install it in and this was it. The factory wiring was all cut and I wanted something clean and more modern. So that went in along with some Infinity speakers. It sounded and looked really good. It doesn't look near factory unfortunately, but I can change the stereo lighting to orange, so it does match well at night!
