My s1 Rx7savanna. With a 12a turbo

G'day all,
My name is Jared and i'm from the 'land down under'... Good old Australia.

Anywho, this is my car. It's a white 1979 series1 rx7 Savanna GT. The car has a 12aT motor fitted. I've had the car for around a year now.
The bodys pretty average, the interiors really nice.

Mods are as follows.
-2 and a quater inch exhaust almost turbo back.
-BOV.
-Pod filter. With a cold-air induction.
-Microtech MT-4 fuel only computer.
-Blitz Turbo Timer.
-Couple of gauges.(Boost,Water)
-Battery relocated to behind my drivers seat in a box.(No back seats)
-ROH 'Galaxy' rims.(F-205/60/R14_R-245/50/R14)
-S5 turbo gearbox
-'Extreme' Heavy Duty clutch.
-1ltr surge tank. With an additional VL turbo fuel pump.
NOTE-I have 450/300/76 intercooler mounted but i'm just sorting out the pping and customizin the stock 12a inlet. I have the clamps and hose's needed.

Love the car. Its my second rotor but my first turbo rotor. Stil goes well just got a few ECU problems at the moment. But all in all i'm happy.

Hope you enjoy, here's some pics.

Very cool! I've never seen a 12at except for some old pictures from Mazda. I didn't know that any of these engines were still kicking around. I love the red manifold and the red fan blade. Very cool. Keep up the good work!

Put the shroud back on that radiator, pronto. You're losing quite a bit of cooling effectiveness without it.

Looks great!
I like the modest exterior, but with big tires!
Looks like you keep that rear bumper smokin' hot.......fireballs always help deter tailgaters, and rice-racers!

G'day fellaz, thanx heaps for your kind coments. There are plenty of 12aT still kickin along down here in aus.
Gotta love the flames ay?? I clean my rear bumper with "window washer" to clear off the black marks, but straight above the cannon on the actual chassis it's really on there!! lol... I cleaned the bumper for the photo's.
Yeah i bought the car without the shroud but i've just been lazy huntin one down. Good idea though for sure.
I did have GFB BOV(trumpet type) but i traded it with my mate for this one.It has a really tight spring in it plus it's massive!! When i hook my cooler up i'll be gettin rid of it though..
Have a good one guys an we'll chat soon. All the best.

Yeah interms of cars we are... Thats probably about it!!!!!

Little update- I bought a series2 diff centre the other day and changed it over with a mate while we knocked back some tooheys extra dry(Beers).
My old stock series1 diff was welded by the previous owner. While the locker was incredibly FUN it also was stressin all my rear-end components an not too mention it was chewin up my $440(aus) a pair rear tyres(245/50)!
The car now drives sooo much smoother, includng gear change's!! It's actually amazin' how much smoother the gears are now, just imagine how much stress/damage was gettin done with the locker!!
My advice would be to strengthen all your rubber bushe's etc at the rear-end before fitting any sort of locker to your car. Especailly a car thats near 30yrs old.

You need to change your battery to the other side of the car. It will help offset the weight of the driver better that way. Also, are you using a sealed battery like an Optima? If not, then you need to change to a sealed/vented battery box. Standard batteries give off hydrogen gas and can fill your car with it. Highly combustible, and very dangerous. Just want to make sure that you're taking proper precautions...
