I believe the color is called "Hello Yellow". It's from the 1981 Corvette, and is Chevy code 52. Here's the thing though, between 1978 and 1981, all Corvette yellow paints were code 52, but there were two different yellows.
Apparently, Chevy switched to the deeper, more orange-yellow that I have, sometime in 1979, and used it until they stopped offering yellow in 1982. So, to be sure I got the right color, I asked for the 1981 specific yellow.
I didn't realize you had swapped in a Renesis. I'm about to do the same. Can you share details on the front mount mods and the oil pan fabrication? DM me if you want. Love seeing this car. Did you really sell it? I see a SOLD in your signature. @YELLOWGSLSE

Hi Tim! @t_g_farrell I most certainly have NOT sold the '79, and can't see ever doing so! The "SOLD" in my signature is referring to my old '84 GSL-SE. I'd actually been meaning to post an update with a few recent pics.
So, here are some taken as recently as a couple weeks ago.
As for any specific Renesis details, I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. And while I can answer some questions around the overall project, particularly the finished product, I admittedly don't know many of the technical details off-hand (measurements, fabrication specifics, etc.) as my builder handled all of that. But I can easily find out from him any details you're interested in. Just let me know!
I am also considering a 4-port renesis swap as I suspect oil rings and other soft seals are starting to go in my '79. Is yours still running the stock transmission or is it an RX-8 trans? Also, greetings from a fellow Atlanta-area rotary owner! Awesome car!

Hi neighbor! Thank you! And yes, I'm still running the stock transmission.
@t_g_farrell do you think a modified nikki could support a 4-port renesis build? Thinking with the added efficiency and lack of overlap, there might be a chance.

@maxda I'm not sure if it will flow enough above 7000k. For my swap I'm going to use my Dellorto setup which I can easily jet to address the needs of the Renesis 6 port I have. Project is on hold for a bit but I will post up when it gets seriously underway.
How is the renesis swap? I am contemplating buying a low-mile 4-port renesis. Do you think it is worth the extra power over a 12a?
The swap is fantastic, and most definitely worth the extra power (double) over the 12a. It's lighter, smoother, and I think it has a better tone than a 12a with comparable power.
If you're in the area, I'd be happy to let you check it out. Feel free to PM.
Wanted to share some updated pics of the car with its "new" wheels. They're actually the wheels from my old GSL-SE, which I'd been keeping in my basement/storage for the past 25 years. I actually got the idea a couple years ago to see about having them dished, and up-sized to 15 inch.
Circumstances wouldn't allow it at the time, but I came back to the idea a couple months ago and decided to reach out to Love20bee, who did my Epsilons, to see if he could make my vision a reality. With a bit of hounding on my part and hard work on his, I now have them. 15x8, converted to 4x110, and they turned out exactly as I'd envisioned. I couldn't be happier.
Man, that is one awesome car. My uncle regrets everyday how he didn't pick a low mileage all original '79 yellow hard top SA being sold locally in SF last year. It was a roller (no tranny or motor) and the car had been garage kept it's entire life as the motor was pulled to be put in the owners r100. The deal breaker for my uncle was that it had an after market moon roof which my uncle despises for some reason. According to him, the aftermarket one's are not flush and create a bubbly/ concave look to the roof of the car which greatly bothers him. After seeing it in person; he decided to wait a week to think about it. I convinced him that the custom roof job was good enough and he was letting a golden opportunity pass him by. Needless to say, the car had been sold the day before for somewhere around $1,500-2000.
