Car S.O.S. does .......an Rx7
Car S.O.S. is one of those innovative and original car shows that only the Brits can do well. It celebrates classic car culture and restoration but with a twist ... restoring the car for an owner that's fallen on hard times and without him knowing about it.
This was the final episode of Season 5 (and perhaps the very last episode ever?) and I was waiting for weeks for it to air since it had been revealed that they would do an Rx7 (they had done a Datsun 240Z the previous season).
Alas, it was not the expected SA since that would have been more typical of the era of cars they dealt with. It was a Japanese imported 1993 FD, but hey still fun to watch!

Couple of thoughts:
I think the son was thinking of pearl rather than "fleck" for the paint particles. That would've looked a lot smoother and iridescent rather than sparkly.
These guys and Wheeler Dealers have had luck in not only skipping a rebuild, but hunting down EFI issues. I was expecting a lecture on repairing older engines vs newer ones.
