IL My 81 Rat 7

I've noticed I never posted any pics or info threads on any of my past cars. This car has been in my life since I was 5 It belonged to my neighbor, she had 3 sitting in her yard since I could remember. As a teen I would ask her about them but she never wanted to talk about them for some reason. Fast forward to 1999, I was 15 and was in love with these cars. I searched for one and found a 84 GSL w/ 12a bridgeport and Holley. I was a idiot and wrecked it. As I got older I became better friends with the owner. She was a widow and come to find out the 7's belonged to her husband who was a Mazda tech. I convinced her to sell me both her SE's which I stripped for parts (they were far gone from rust) She never wanted to part with the 81 though. A few months ago she contacted me and asked if I wanted the car. I jumped on the chance, she bartered with I installed a new toilet in her basement and she paid me with the car. Its been sitting sonce 1994. I have all the service records from the day it left the lot. She also threw in all her husbands spare parts which include:

2) 12A blocks (unsure of the condition)
louvers
2) Glass tops
1) OEM 12A rebuild kit
8) boxes of random stuff i haven't checked them yet

The plan is to get her streetable and DD for a while until I could find a clean SA shell. Oh before I forget the chassis has ZERO rust besides minor surface on the hood. Now off to the pics...

sorry for the delay in pics. Im the wife's 3g card (which sucks btw! ) lol The pics were taken when I was working on her bathroom. The odo reads 168K, at first the engine had ZERO compression. I dropped a lil MMO down the carby and came back every few days and turned her by hand. After a week a started getting nice solid SWOOSHES I think I could get her back if I keep working the seals.
My plan of action is:
1. Drop the tank, replace with a S3 unit I bought on CL
2. Replace all soft fuel lines and add 2 fuel filters
3. Pull engine, Clean engine, and engine bay
4. Rebuild the Nikki, remove emmisions and add a Mallory 4309 FPR
5. Replace drum rear end with a S2 GSL unit.
6. Replace all bushings

Little by little she will get there, the progress will be slow at first ( I work two jobs) In March I get 3 weeks of vacation so I plan to do some major damage then. My birthday is manana so the wife is allowing to spend $1,500.00 on the car. So Im working with a tight budget but I think it could be possible.
I have a issue I fould mold under the head liner and was wondering if I should try to restore the interior or if I should just seek a new one.

It seems the pics are too big and I need to resize them. I will upload them to my photobucket account when I get home.

Okay guys I have a small question I dropped in my new battery today and replaced all my fuses. The reason being Im towing her home with my brothers S10 so I want the hazard lights to work. Upon plugging up the battery I got a smoky smell from the car. I immediately unplugged the battery. Looks like some vermin ate my power wire. Im thinking of taking some 0 gauge power wire and making new battery cables. Anyone got any tips? Any help would be great. Thanks

I can't believe I forgot I started this thread. Sorry for the lack of updates...
Plans have taken a drastic turn
I traded the 81 for a 12a with 65K
I picked up a 79 RX7 for $150 she came with no drivetrain, no windows, no seats and no wiring. At the moment shes waiting on a rad, rad shround and a bunch of other bits and pieces.
The original color is Spark Yellow with a build date of 5/78 and the is SA22C507826

time for an update
I got all the windows on the car, I still need new hatch shocks and hatch screws to hold the large window in place. I found a 79 at a pick n pull and raped it of its dash, door panels and door windows. Over the weekend I dropped in the rear end out of my old GSL (so now I have rear disc brakes ) I started to rip out all of the sound deadning material and the rear of the interior.

Things left to do in the interior:
finish stripping the interior
paint the floor boards
install seats
install ignition switch
