Lighten up this is an internet forum for crying out loud. I have work next to a Mazda performance shop fpr 5 years I know how bad *** Miata's can be. *cough* chick car *cough*

It's funny cuz when I asked my girlfriend if she wanted me to buy her a 2002 Miata after her FC was totalled she said "No thanks, Miata's are even too gay for me, just get me another nice Rx7." I mean seriously she isn't the only girl I know that laughs at a dude in a Miata.

That is just the default avatar tag ionno I haven't touched it. I found that Santa Hat at Longs about 7 years ago in the middle of summer. Took a picture and since back then cell phones didn't have very good camera's I thought it was perfect for an avatar since it was already that small a resolution.

Okay well I encourage you and your GF to check out miataturbo.net or clubroadster.net. I find it hard to believe that you think the cars are gay, being that some of the most baddest Miatas, both NA or Boosted are in Cali.

I bet if tomorrow you heard a bunch of young *** punks saying FB's are a gay car, you would prolly get all self consience and sell it.

I was more or less saying stock for stock... Any car can be made in to a monster if there's enough money involved.

And while driving my buddy's NA miata, I get- "What a cute car" occasionally, mostly from obese women in their mid 30's. Hardly a chick magnet, and if you need a miata to pull girls then I fell sorry for you man.

 

beautiful car!!!!!! however in response to our miata loving patrons, i am appalled that you would actually have the audacity to ever say and/or believe that a miata or any piston powered car could be equal to or better than a rotary powered car no matter how fast it is... the only way to make a miata cool is to dump that hampster wheel of an engine and drop a rotary in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy that owns the convenice store up the street from my house has a little white miata with a rotary in it :P. my sister use to work with him and he gave me a ride in it a long time ago, thing flew... he also put a body kit on it and a big shopping cart handle, sorta looks like a S2000 outta the corner of your eye :P

 

I run a smog shop located next to a mazda performance shop. I have driven some very supped up and fast Miatas, Rx7s, 8s, etc... They are all awesome cars. Miatas are just gay chick cars, thats all. Would I own one? Sure, if it was only to sell it and buy more Rx7s

Quit getting worked up about a Miata. I'm just giving the OP a hard time because he chose a Miata over an Rx7.

I race in the canyons against a supercharged miata with a driver to match the performance of the car. Trust me, I have loads of respect for them as would anyone after seeing what that car can do. Plus, if I didn't, that would make me prejudice against homosexuals cars, and that wouldn't be cool.

You are a idiot to think that Miatas are chick cars or even gay. I am not biases towards either, simply because I have owned both. My last rotary was a 06 Shinka. Before that a 93fd. I have owned more Rx-7's than you can shake a stick at.

I agree, they are very unique and certainly a blast to hear and drive when running properly. But the comparisons of efficiency and reliability are well,
non comparable.

I love Rx-7's ans all things rotary. Simply because they are unique. But they are unpredictable, bad on emmisions and get horrible gas milaege. Would I own another after all that I have owned? ABSOLUTELY!! Just not for a DD.

There is nothing wrong with a miata. After all it is a Mazda and a very well selling car. The damn thing feels like a go-kart. Try racing a shifter kart then driving a miata, pretty close if you ask me, just a little slower haha.

My father owns a 01 miata, i own the rotary which i DD no problem. Both fair cars with no complaints. Calling it a girl's car is just ignorant.

If i ever left rotarys i would jump into a miata.

Miatas are not gay! they are just a different form of cool ... i still have aspirations of building one for my Dad if i can't get my hands on a decent Mini Cooper S.

that said, unless it permeates your clothes with the smell of burnt hydrocarbons and a wafting of raw fuel, you can't REPLACE the Gen I. period.

When was that exactly? Even when these were new, I don't remember a lot of female drivers flocking to them.

Although there are some narrow-minded folk who think Miatas aren't manly enough, that would never deter me from owning what is a really great car. I've liked them since the first time I saw one at a car show in 1990.

besides, how many people on here are bashing it JUST because it is a Miata? It is a Supercharged, super clean, great example of a sports car. And yes, a Miata classifies as a sports car: 2 Seats, RWD, Made to handle.
