Well I've decided to sell my FB. I really liked it and would love to have it for years to come, but it became logical to go down to just one car. I picked up a new car that I definately feel is an upgrade though so I'm happy. Its a 94 Miata, built and supercharged, putting down 214hp to the rear wheels at 2200lbs







I had alot of fun with the RX7 and it was my first sports car. I owe it for teaching me about cars and turning me on to mazda's. Maybe someday I'll get another one but until then have fun with your FB's guys.

That is an amazingly clean Miata. I love it. I owned a 94 Miata...it was stock but it was fun. I dunno if I'd ever give up my rotary for one, but they are awesome cars.

I used to have a Miata and a single turbo FD as stable mates. Great cars and way to keep it in the Mazda family!

There is nothing like an FB... If you happen to find another on the road and give it a raise-lower of the headlights, you will get one back. It is almost guaranteed.

If you do that to an NA miata on the road, the other person will have no idea whats going on because they will most likely be an overweight female hairstylist with a chihuahua in the passenger seat.

Bottom line, 7's have more gumption and soul than any miata would... You'll be wanting the feel of the 7 back soon.

You my friend have no ******* clue as to what you're talking about. A SC or turbo Miata is by far a better and way more fun car than a FB. I have owned 6 FB's and the last one was a 85 GSL-SE with a J-spec 12at.

Was it fun? Hell yes, but it is nothing comared to a Turbo Miata. These cars are better equiped as turbos and the handling is superior to a Fb. I know I have one and if you ask anyone who has had both, you will certainly get a unanamous decision on what the better car is.

And you may think that they are gay, and that's okay because when you get your *** handed to you by a Miata, you will be the only one looking like a fool.

I always maintained that the na miata was what a properly updated 1st gen rx7 was supposes to be, minus the piston engine. Just look at them the lines are so similar. The interior layout is almost exact. They both have round popups, even. If their had been a proper hatch version, I would bought 3. One to keep stock, one to swap in a 13bt and the third to gut and go 3 rotor na

 

Your right. But, the reason I am even writing in this thread is to clarify some things. First the 1.6 DOHC was boosted in the 323 gtx's and the same motors came in the Miata just NA.

These motors can take copious amounts pf boost and safely achieve 200-250 hp before having to go heavier on teh internals. That my friend is over a 100% increase.

Please do not think I am saying Rotarys are worse than Na blah blah blah!! I have owned 15 Rx-7's and my first car was a 85 5 letter in 1990. All I am saying is that when douchebag know it all jerkoffs say that the Miata is gay and that its no better than a FB, you are really sounding ignorant and biased.

Do yourself a favor and go check out clubroadster.net or miataturbo.net and you might get a clue. And BTW I am not gay and everyone that has ridden in my boosted Miata walks away with a second thought and A HUGE SMILE.

I used to own a Miata. Did it make me want to suck ****? No.

Miata's are far more common and there are more non-enthusiasts driving them which sucks for those who give a crap. FBs are far more rare so chances are that if you have one you are not an overweight hair stylist. I do have a dog, and she loved to ride in the Miata with the top down (maybe she is gay???).

Do I miss it? Sometimes, when my FB is not running. Was it fun? Hell yes. Are they for everyone? Nope. To each his own.

I just don't understand the homo/Miata-phobes around here. Go hate on Civics.

Here is my old ride. No SC or turbo, but it had a 1.8l from a '00 Miata. That thing was fun to drive--more fun then the single-turbo R1 FD that shared a garage with it:

Miatas can be bad-*** cars for the right person. My personal take is that if you own one and don't race or autocross it, you're a total tool. Same goes for S2000s and corvettes. It's got that kind of sleeper effect, like the S2K and vette. I mean you do kinda look like a douche driving it, but you know it will rip the riceboys a new one at the track.

Alls I gotta say is you guys can call it gay all you like, but ITS GOT A FRIGGIN BLOWER!!!!

I don't see the overweight stylist/chihuahua combo in this car. At least not with the top down, the mutt would fly out the roof if you stomped it.

I can see the huge stylist (chihuahua in arms of course) saying to you, "Hey that looks just like my car, it's soooooo cuuuute! But what's that wierd whine coming out of the engine? You need to get that looked at." LOL

Thanks a million. I will always have a place in my heart for the Rx-7. All I was saying is that the OP had a Fb and sold it to buy a SC'd Miata that is obviously clean as hell.

Then you have idiots saying, You'll be back, the Fb is a better car, blah blah blah. Ill tell you what, you look at N3V's rotary swap and I wil agree its a cool project.

But you can boost a 1.6 Dohc with 150k miles with no issues. These cars are beasts, and yea I know they have a stigma as far as the gay thing is concerned, but I am comfortable with my sexuality. And when some ricer says man that is a chick car, I simply say, your right...Im going to pick up your chick right now.
