The most miles on original 13b

I have an 85 gsl-se 13b engine with 199,071 original miles on it.
Curious how many others out there have a lot of miles on an original 13b engine. Post your model and milage

IIRC, I'm at just over 276,000 right now. Too lazy to check my odometer...

I had one with 283,000. Smoked a little. Broke up around 4k RPM but not motor related. Gave it to my buddy and it should still be running.

My 88 FC was at about 216K when I sold it several months back. Other than an oil leak it still ran great.

GSL-SEs run too well for too long. The apex seals wear down to like 5mm height but never really gain much side slop until it's too late. The apex seal rolls out and breaks like the original FC 3 piece 2mm seals. High mileage is cool, but nothing to be proud of. Do a quickie rebuild!

What is the oil trick? My 12a uses way more oil than it should and if you sit at idle, smokes some when you take off.

It is a 30 year old engine that has never been opened.

Good to know with proper care they can last well past 200K miles.
I want to build a faster engine eventually which would take more $.
Is it really worth it for home mechanic to do a quick rebuild? Ive never rebuilt rotors and housing, just cleaned / replaced upper /lower manifolds.

Oil in the spark plug holes to compensate for poor compression
