Its sweet if you can bear owning one of these w/o a sun roof! Deal-killer for me. That said it will be interesting to see what it goes for...
Gotta love the color tho

Right Bad. Dealers always put too much goo on a car. makes the car look better than it is. engine looked clean. Car could look better at my house in a week. restore to unrestored perfection. would like to see undercarriage.

neat. i like that there are 360's sitting outside, and our pride and joy gets the showroom floor =P

Hold up guys! Lets see what it actually SELLS for before we go that far. Forum member apparently went and looked at it, confirmed its as nice as it seems BUT was told the dealer could be holding out for $7K! Much as I want to drive up the value of my own Sunrise SA, THAT is just silly. Maybe 5yrs from now. But not today.
But then, remember what PT Barnum said...

it does look like original paint, its got the right orange peel
I have a spark yellow 79 that I just picked up in a trade for a moped that I had laying around. Its mostly original. I have a 81 GSL that I was gonna tear down and swap the rear end and motor into the 79. Would I be hurting its resale value if I swap 81 parts into a 79 or should I leave it as is? I will post pics as soon as I get access to my girlfriends camera.
Guys... these cars will never appreciate in value as long as those of us WITH money continue to low ball buyers regardless of the condition. If it's as mint as it appears to be, it should be worth $7K in my mind (if buying as a collectable investment car). If you'll remember, about 2 years ago a white REPU in Washington state sold for just North of $10K with less than 20K original miles. If we as a community don't support uber clean, low mileage rare old rotaries by ponying up to the bar, how can we ever expect collectible values to appreciate?

That white REPU that Charles bought for over $10,000 was just on eBay with a winning big of $3250. He wanted $22,000 for it. Wonder if he will honor the winning bid.

also since the Rx7 was such a sensation when it came out there actually seem to be plenty of low mileage 79's around. i bought one just like that with under 90k on the clock for $750, after a cleaning and detail, it was almost as nice as this one. original everything too.
the low mileage GSL-SE is the one that consistently gets top dollar, as everyone drove theirs. low mile cars go for $8k or better, when they turn up

The best that I saw a very clean early car (5/78) with 75k miles sold about 2 years back on ebay for 5500 i know because i picked it for the Dealer that bought it. This car was 100% orig except tires and battery, had every receipt for dealer replaced parts and even had the orig window sticker and dealer plates. It was purchased from Roger Beasley Mazda in Austin Texas and they bought it back from the orig owner. I myself paid 4500 for the #88 Rx7 and it was an clean car needing only minor interior corrections and an orig exhaust. Having said that I will pay good money for the right car.
