Not holding my breath, but these are presented as Mazda-sourced images...

Pretty sure it's a prototype for the $11B EV line that Mazda plans on developing.

Well, just like all the "Rx9" renderings, it looks horn, but will most likely never happen in this day and age of nothing but SUV's and econo-hatches

Lots of synergy between Mazda and Toyota.

I would still love to see the RX-Vision make its way to the market. How about a Mazda built inline 6-cylinder engine with Toyota's mild hybrid technology?

Maybe a next generation Mazda6 / Toyota Supra sports car? I'm sure Toyota fans would much rather have a Japanese built car vs. a german built car.

I hope toyota never touches anything related to Mazda. I love the 90-s toyotas, but todays toyota is a pure ******* company.

Toyota and Mazda share a plant in Alabama where they make the CX-50 and Corolla Cross, and the last Yaris sold in here was a refaced Mazda 2.
Toyota's current CEO is a race fan which is why they're competing in WRC and at Le Mans, and why there are cars like the GR Yaris and Corolla.

I'm kinda tired of seeing just concepts from Mazda to only then release another CUV.
Their new inline 6 is first going into a crossover but hopefully it'll have swap potential into an MX-5.

Well, Toyota have poured millions of dollars into anti right-to-repair lobbying trying to make it illegal to work on your own damn car and curb any attempts at making tech specs available outside authorized dealers.
Pure greed.

That's a great find.

You could tell by the newsprint that it was an older article even before seeing the "reach showrooms during the 1992 model year".

Someone had insider info. ?
One of the concepts for the FD had elements that made it to the MX-3.

I'm detecting some FD in the 3/4 view of the B-pillar, but the rest looks like a Saturn/24SX combo to me. I'm glad Mazda went back to the drawing board. Speaking of which, they could just give us a road going Furai and be done with it.

loved that thing……but I think a HP rotary for the average person is a dream now. Mass produced anyway. Maybe splinter off a division and make one to compete with Ferrari and the like.

The rotary is a luxury imo and not competitive in the fuel efficiency/power ratio compared to much more affordable options.

one can dream though.

I like it mostly, the back-end is too Lotus Elise/Exigey for me tho.. (and I love the Elise/Exige). Those pop-up headlights would be a non-starter for USDM cars with our crazy pedestrian safety standards.. but maybe work in a less strict market.....That top roof-line (immediately behind windshield) smacks of an Mx-5/Miata/Roadster... an odd look for a hard-top unless it'll have targa option,,,

so they did just announce the CX90 which is a BIG suv, but it is RWD with an inline 6 cylinder, so they actually could do a sports car from the parts bin

Maybe someone will make it into a sedan at next year's Tokyo Auto Salon.

Like the opposite of what Nissan Kyoto Automotive College did to a Z:
