Mallory 4070M problem
Mallory 4070M problem
Hi All,
I just installed a Mallory 4070M on my 79 Rx7.
My gas lines to the carb are currently disconnected going into a jar.
When I first tested the fuel pump I could hear it whirring and it indeed pumped fuel into the container I had waiting under the hood.
Unfortunately the second time I turned it on it did not work. The unit gets warm/hot after a few minutes but I cannot hear any internal whirring.
Any ideas where to start? Could the pump simply have failed?

Well I just disconnected my beautiful wiring job and tested the pump directly on a 12V lantern battery and it didn't turn on.
I'm a junior mechanic so bear with me but putting the pump + and - directly on the 12V should turn it on right?
