LA visit - any suggestions for a motorhead? to see?
Sorry for lack of much RX content!
Off for 10 days to LA (Ok, Long Beach...). Likely my one-and-only trip and wanted some suggestions of must-sees of the Motor/Rotor-head variety...
I plan to see:
-Disneyland
-Petersen Auto Museum
-Auto-Aero Bookstore
-???
-I know mazdatrix is up on signal hill. Is that worth a visit?
thanks guys.
Off on Thursday!
cheers

RB's also only a couple blocks from my office, Stu... Roughly 91 freeway at Lakeview, north and east of Disneyland a few miles.
The Petersen is supposed to be great; haven't been yet.
The USS Iowa is now a museum in Long Beach - - on my list of things to see still. The tour of the Queen Mary is pretty cool, too - - humongous engines.
I may need to unwrap the Beastie from her winter cocoon, if you're gonna be in town.
There's a small meet supposed to happen at Puente Hills Mazda on Saturday the 19th, too.
Long time back, you used to be able to get a tour of Barris Kustoms in Hollywood pretty easy - not sure if it's still the case, though.

Will do, Stu.
Been kind of a rainy winter for us, & after a solid year of dinking with the Beastie, I decided to give her a rest for a little while.
My garage is small enough (read as: full of enough junk) that the only way I can get both the 7 and the Z in there is to have the 7 up on skates & against the wall.

the L A experience is not complete unless you roll MLK Blvd through Watts and pop a few caps off, and be sure to be in a RED car (or is it BLUE car).
Also L A is the bank robbery capital of the world. Walk into any bank wearing a hat and sunglasses, and act real nervous. If you can pull off a straight face, it is hilarious to watch the tellers get antsy.
And porno is dispensed from news stands infront of every post office.

Midnight-
Might have to pass on THAT LA welcome wagon.
Rino-
Hopefully my little Ford Focus can do some of the twisties justice. Bit of Route 66 driving West of town is on the plan. Thanks for some ideas...
Its been so surprisingly cold here you could be right about snow up top!!
