Joined the Widebody club tonight

Last night I was cursing Craigslist for Rx-7's and other rotary vehicles like I always do. I ran a across a widebody RX-7 in the town I work in. As soon as I saw the pictures, I know who built the car. It was the one and only Trochoid's widebody 12A bridgeport. How could this be? I called the number and found that the current own purchased it at a storage auction not long ago. I made the trip with my trailer and purchased it tonight. The only issue is that because it was a storage auction, there is no title.

The car needs some cosmetic attention but nothing dramatic. I really have too many projects at this time so my goal is to clean it up and sell it.

I got a smoking hot deal. I knew if I didn't act fast it would be gone.

I need to compile a list of all the goodies on it. Some of the things a found so far.

1. Dual Weber carbs
2. Rotary Engineering intake.
3. Rotary Engineering strut tower brace.
4. Electric fan
5. Second Gen brake booster
6. RE-Speed Big Brake kit (front and back)
7. Moser Axels
8. 5 lug 5x114.
9. Slotted and vented rotors
8. SSR 15" 3 piece wheels.
9. Header with custom exhaust
10. Black Dragon Widebody kit (I believe)
11. 12A Bridgeport
12. I think it has a line lock but need to check
13. Short shift shifter
14. Full rollbar with door bars
15. Second Gen front mount oil cooler
16. Power steering
17. A pillar gauge pod
18. After market gauges in dash.
19. After market fuel pump - not sure if it has a FPR or not.
20. In-line Fuel pressure gauge under hood
21. Not sure if it has coil-overs yet. I do know it has the adjustable tops for caster/camber

Any word on what happened to him? I sent him a PM here on the forum over 4 years ago and he replied back to me. It was when I was very new to rotaries and researching about FMOC installation on my beehive 12a. He was very nice to me over PM and seemed like an awesome guy. I'm glad this car went to another good owner - and welcome to the widebody club!

That is a Black Dragon kit, also known as a CP Racing kit. It's very similar to the Pacifica kits with the exception that Pacifica doesn't have hard body lines on the sides, it flows more smoothly. The Pacifica also has sideskirts, whereas the CP/BD ones do not. I love them both though, always have and always will.

Trochoid, Scott, fell on hard times about 4 years ago and had to move from his house to an apartment. I tried to help him out by storing a couple of his cars and most of his shop equipment. I could only store it for a year and he then moved everything to a storage facility. We had a falling out over this. I wish I could have done more but this was becoming an never ending situation. I lost track of him but have just recently found out where he lives. I'm trying to get a group of local RX-7 guys together to help him with some yard work.

Here is the local thread.

Crazy that you know him so well, I guess I wasn't expecting that extent of a relationship.

It's a nice find for you for sure! That would be the best base of a project I think you could ask for, at least in my opinion.
