Let’s help a RX-7 club veteran
Some of you might remember Troicoid (Scott) and his first gen widebody RX-7. Well, I went by his house today while taking care of some business and was surprised at what I saw. The yard is in great need to cutting and just general maintenance.
To give everyone some background, Scott is 65 yrs old and has some medical issues that don't allow him to do a lot of activity. He has also landed on hard times. He doesn't get online very much any more so he hasn't been able to post very often on the forum.
I would like to get a bunch of us Kansas City area RX-7 owners together and help Scott out. We would need to take some push/riding mowers and all the weed wackers people have. I'll bring my push mower, weed wacker, and chain saw, along and some gas (with and without oil).
I'm proposing June 13th starting at 10:00AM. We can meet at Loves gas station on the south end of St Joseph Missouri (right off I-29 and 169 Highway). Everyone can then follow me to Scott's house.
I know Scott is very modest, so he would never ask for anything. I just think it's time for us to pay him back for his past friendship and knowledge shown here on the forum.
Who's in? Afterwords I'd like to take him out to eat somewhere.

Agreed! This is what makes our community great! I stayed with Scott for a night about 6 or 7 years back when a friend and I drove from Iowa to a KC 7-club meet. Scott later came up to Iowa for one of our (very small) meets. Drove the widebody FB up, and had a fun little excursion off road, cracking the fiberglass on the front lip. Good times!
Anyway, Scott is a great guy and I hope he is doing well!

K.c.repu that is a great thing your doing for a fellow member, that makes me feel very proud to be a member of this community. If I lived closer, I would be there in a minute. Maybe I can send you a few dollars to pay for gas or something, let me know

Because of the fear of rain this weekend, I went to Scott's house last night and mowed the grass and cut down some trees.
Thanks to everyone that was able to give Scott some much needed funds.
If anyone is still interested in helping clean up, there is still some work to be done. Mostly cleaning up overgrown weeds and raking up the mounds of cut grass.
