S3 interior is surprisingly good quality. Cannot comment on the S2 as I've never been in one. I think they both are nicely designed, but I generally prefer the S3 layout, but the S2 gauge cluster arrangement...the tach really should be front and center on these cars.

My vote would go for pre-84. Not sure if this translates (or offends
), but the 84/5 dash is too "american". It feels like they tried to tart it up for the americans before they went to the 2nd gen which was all for americans (i.e. bland).
