I want to strangle the last owner of my car

So, after owning my car for a couple months, I decide to crawl up under and inspect the exhaust, I almost wish I hadn't. The header is welded INSIDE the main pipe, whoever they had do the exhaust obviously thought flanges weren't needed and cut it off, and seam welded the whole damn thing together. I'll post pics up later when i get my card reader back. So now I get to cut the whole damn thing apart and weld it right, good damn thing I'm a USAF certified welder.

One piece exhaust system, the definition of simplicity! I did that with my stock setup... hacked off the main cat and had a magnaflow welded to the back of the last precat I had it redone this year the right way though, with flanges, hangers, and an O2 bung.

Hey, at least no one painted it bright orange right over the factory clearcoat.

Yeah, maybe it's simplistic, but no reason to cut off the header flange and stuff it in the main pipe. Maybe it's just the welder in me, but it hurts to look at my exhaust.

Yeah, the header I bought had the flange cut off which was pretty annoying. I don't have a welder so I had to have a shop weld one on. At least you've got the equipment to do it right, and you can throw some new gaskets in there while you're at it and have a leak-free setup for a long time.

what is is with people and exhaust hack jobs... the owner of my car before me wasn't quite as bad all the flanges are still there. all of them welded together except the one that goes to the reactor... witch i had to grind down to get flat after they somehow warped it... i still have yet to fix all the holes in the weld jobs....

haha reminds me of when i first did my exhaust. Had a 2.25" pipe welded to the stock manifold down pipe. The flange at the manifold to downpipe leaked, and i couldnt get it to not leak, so i welded it all together. Only did this cause i had planned to buy a header, which i did, then i did every correctly :P
