I love my car

I've painted that trim a couple times Jaime, it lasts a year or two and then goes back to the normal stock first gen window trim finish - speckled. I've decided the Mazda engineers wanted it that way, so now I like the speckled look better than the all black look.
Sam I think something is screwed up with the Nikki, maybe the accelerator pump. I'm also getting some hesitation when the gas peddle first goes down. Usually I get 22-23 mpg on the highway commute. Time to get greasy and figure it out.
I'm a real animal lover, that's why I give the goats my beer sometimes. I just want them to be happy and that beer really works. I can't figure out why women don't want our animals to be happy, can you guys?
Old School, sounds like we have a lot in common. Except your silver FB has more decals:
Anybody else got any cool pics of Silver FB's or SA's that they love?

She still makes me happy everytime I go in the garage!!

Ray, per your request, here are a few pics of a sunbeam silver 85 GSL that i had a couple years back. i ended up selling it, though i wish i hadn't. it had 55K original milkes on it when i sold it and was 100% reliable. the car still smelled new inside. i bought it from a local dealership. i offered the guy $1500 cash and he agreed because he couldnt get it to start and it had a bad clutch. the previous owner was a very old man that apparently had an issue with riding the clutch. i replaced the clutch and installed a new pilot bearing, slave cylinder and hose, oil filter pedestal o-rings, plugs, wires, oil change, and coolant flush and the car was ready to go. i used the money from the car as a down payment on my RX-8.

That's a lot of Silver FB's Alex, where'd you find them all??
Nice decision on the SA Old School! That is the smart thing to do. Fine examples like these will only increase in value and beauty over time
And it will keep this one company:
Now Dave, trading in that fine Silver FB for an FE, well I'm not so sure that was a good idea.

Ray, i didnt want to sell the car...but another 7 enthusiest came along and paid top dollar for the car..so knowing that it went to a good home was comforting to know. plus, my wife wanted me to get a car with a back seat for the kids...in my mind, there was only one logical choice, an FE.

Ray, a guy in MI bought the car. he owns a company that produces velocity stacks. it was extremely difficult to turn the keys over... at the time, i had a choice to make as to which 7 to sell. it was either my 88 10AE, my 80 LS or the 85 GSL. those were the three i drove the least and i decided i'd sell the 85 because with the 10AE, the money we got for our wedding ,my wife allowed me to use on a new engine for the car.. the 80 LS i would take to car shows and my wife knew how much i enjoyed cruising the SA.. and the 85, i was driving near every weekend or nice day and while i enjoyed it, my main concern was that the previous owner used some sort of a grinder or dremel of sorts to remove the pilot bearing at one time. i was able to clean up the mess from the uneducated and i replaced the disc which was pretty worn. the pilot bearing was non existant when i dropped the trans and though i got a new bearing in there, i never felt good about it. i explained this in detail to the guy who bought the car and he said that he was fine with it and that he would drive it on nice days and to shows as long as it would hold up. he does still have my number in case he would sell it and i wanted to buy it back. so with that said, i was very sad to see the GSL go and i felt sick to my stomache when i watched it drive away. the upside to this is that my wife <3's the RX-8. she doesnt complain about riding in it and it seems to be a car she enjoys as well. my daughter on the other hand consistently tells me that my 85 GS with the SE engine is her car and wants to drive it.. at 3 years old, i think she's got a few years before i'll hand the keys over

Dave you are a true Rotor Head, two RX-7's for every member in the family, including the 3 year old. I still wish you had kept the GSL, it is the exact same model and finish as mine, we would have had matching cars (the leather interior in mine is an upgrade, but still have the original red velor seats, they're in great shape).
Tim you just talked me out of Del Horto's for life. I still like them in YOUR car though.
