I Can't Wait For Autocross Next Year
I can't wait for next spring and autocross season to begin.
I put a rollbar and harnesses in the last couple days, now I just need to wait for the weather to become nice....in about 6 months from now. Oh well gives me time to buy save for a new set of rt615's.

sounds good tim.
we can trade turbo fb for turbo fd drives, first you have to prove to me that your not going to mis shift my baby. Ask Chris and Michelle about the s5 tranny, it is a lil 'different' to shift hehe especially with the 6-speed shifter. When I drive my red car I find my self going from 2nd to 5th all the time now
I will even lend my help breaking in your new engine
I haven't seen your fd since summer 06' ...?
Is yours single ? no homo

Looks very nice man. I really need to get some seats, and race rubber, and on and on . lol.
Over the winter, I'll be installing the front coilovers and the trilink/panhard setup I got ahold of this fall. Already installed the new brake calipers all around w/SS lines. Also installed rear adjustable springs and Bilsteins.
Also, we replaced my blown motor that had 213,000 on it. Unfortunately, I'll need to pull it back out again to put the correct flywheel and clutch on it.
Yeah, my biggest need now (actually, for a long time now) is tires. I've been running on Sumitomo's for two years now. Can't wait to try some sticky tires for the first time. C'mon tax refund!

Yeah, I'm kinda looking forward to the next auto-x season as well. I almost toasted my clutch a couple weeks back during our season ending 2 day event. It started slipping on Saturday, so I had to be a little easier on it for Sunday.
Winter is knocking on the door, literally as I write this, so I have a few months to decide how wild I want to go on a replacement clutch. I don't drive the car much in the winter, and the clutch isn't totally gone, so it will hold for a couple months. Perhaps in that time, I can acquire a lightweight flywheel to go along with the clutch replacement. I'm leaning towards a 6 puck copper/ceramic disc with sprung hub, and heavy duty pressure plate. I still want drivability, hence the sprung hub.
Planning starts soon for next season, and I may be stepping into the SOLO chair position for next season. That ought to be quite an experience for a relative newbie like myself. After having been the only person in my class to qualify for a season trophy, I am looking forward to all the challenges of the upcoming season. Maybe I can successfully defend the title, while taking a much more active role in how the events are organized.
Who knows, I may even be able to upgrade to some RT 615's for next year......

I'm kinda torn on another option. I have a freind the just upgraded to T2 drivetrain in their S4, after killing a trans and diff within a couple weeks time. During his upgrade, he removed a LWFW and 4 puck solid hub clutch setup. I could prolly purchase this reasonably cheap. The only problem, the LWFW is an old one piece unit (I had never seen one, either) that was rebalanced for his S4 engine, with S5 rotors, and uses a 215mm clutch. S5 rotors = 9.54lbs, while S3 12A rotors = 9.6lbs. In theory, it should be very close to correct for a S3 12A, since it was balanced for a S5 N/A. Close still isn't perfect........
