Consider the bottom of the line most economical fb 12a atkins rebuild, now how long will it last with conscientious maintenance (oil chages, coolant topping off, OMP monitoring, did I leave anything out? )

this is discouraging, as prominent as Atkins rebuilds is, no one seems to have a running car that has an Atkins rebuilt rotary in it. So either Atkins isn't that prominent and they have a great internet advertising department. Or Atkins rebuilds don't last and everyone who has had one has taken his rx-7 off the road andno longer comes to this site?

"All net and no site"...."all hat and no cattle"..."all steak and no sizzle"..."all heels and no hymen"...."all mouth and no muscle"....."looks like tarzan , hits like jane".....I'm on roll !

My brother and I did a basic seal & spring rebuild on my old 12a years ago. Good people to deal with IMO. I'm doing a complete rebuild over the winter on my new 12a, 99% sure I'll buy my kit from them

I always considered them an authority on all things rotary, but after opening up a couple of "early failed" known Atkins motors, I have grown disappointed. I have found poor porting, mismatched corner seals as well as imbalanced (read this as A and D rotors) in the same engine. I have talked to others that say they are very deft at putting together a 13 month motor so,.... I probably wouldn't hesitate to buy parts from them, but I doubt I would have them put together a motor for me.

my engine blew at 220,000 miles and I have 248,800 on it now.

So that's 28,000 miles of easy driving with fastidious maintenance.

And right before Dubya got re elected.....or about 8 years.
