Just curious if your rx7's have ever helped in picking up chicks? I bet back in the day they were very cool but now days i am probably going to get laughed at riding in my 79 sa by girls unless they are still considered cool today i doubt it tho

Yes , in 1985 when I was a junior in high school my sister's boyfriend would lend me his 85 SE sometimes. I can't tell you how many girls wanted a ride home, lol. Those were the days!!!!

 

Most definitely! When these cars were new, they made a big splash and people would do double takes and long gawks when catching a glimse. Yes, women did have a thing for them too.

A few times the 7 has accommodated me in this endeavor. Had a girl on my lap in the driver's seat of my very first RX-7 once at night at a beach. Same beach I check when I'm on duty, lol. How we didn't get caught I'll never know. But its a memory that will stick with me forever.

The ONLY reason my wife went out on our first date was because of my car, but it wasn't the 7, it was a Trans Am. That was 39 years ago.

She liked the TA more than I did I guess, I traded it in on the Rx-7 shortly after we got married.

My wife is the only thing I've had longer than my Rx-7!

Cars only get you laid when your single, once you get married, they only cause you to NOT get laid.
(wives dont like it when you spend more time with the car than you do with them!)

However both my kids did ride home from the hospital in the Rx-7! That memory is better than sex.

I can safely say that, if anything, any action I had going on was in spite of my RX-7.

The smell of gasoline and raw exhaust does not an aphrodisiac make.

 

Speak for yourself. My wife bought our FD, but then she gets all of the big boy toys. 2014 5.0, 2015 STI, 2014 Charger RT, and now the 93 FD. All I have is my Focus ST(bone stock big *** turbo, bone stock 407whp)

FB's are super cool even in today's standards in our minds, for sure!

You'll be laughed at by all the hot girls if you do the following:
1. Try to do a burnout - and end up doing a one wheel peel

2. Attempt to drift - stuff the car into a guard rail or another car

3. Be cool and showoff - end up blowing something up or rendering your car inoperable, so you sit there all embarrassed

4. Go to start the car - nothing happens and you're standing there like

5. Talk your car up like it's the best thing ever - they get in and it stinks like gas, antifreeze, exhaust and mothballs

Only if you have a heavily modified one with big flashy wheels, a lot of chrome or polished parts under the hood, turbo or awesome looking carb setup, shiny paint job, nice sounding exhaust and a lot of work - most women won't notice it as anything other than an "old" car. Some will know what it truly is, but those will be few and far between - and taken.

I completely agree with you, bikes are where it's at. Never have I gotten so many looks as when I rode a two-tone White/Carbon Fiber wrapped 2001 R6 with a Black/White Alpinestars leather jacket, riding gloves, and a helmet with a mirror-finished visor. So many women looking at their reflection in my visor as I rode by...
