Not that familiar with the Gslse EFI system. Here's the story. 85 Gslse came to me no start bad compression. Went to several different shops before me. None of them could get it to start. Last shop did a compression test 20psi to 50 psi tops. I rebuilt the engine. All new seals and springs. Rotor housings and irons all looked great. Have good compression now. But it keeps flooding. I have spark. But I can't even get it to pop or fire once. Intake has all new gaskets. Anyone have any direction they can point me to with the fuel injection? Also the wiring going to the injectors was terrible. Wire crimps fell off. The injector plug both sides are the same color. So I don't know if there backwards. Didn't see how it came off. But I don't think it matters what wire goes where on the injectors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try swapping primary injector wiring and add some oil inside rota hosinge to increase compression. check for spark first and make sure timing is correct
As suggested, check timming is correct, as suggested put a little oil in the lead plug holes, if then happy try dusting it with some fuel down the intake wit w.o.t
Verified distributor wasnt installed 180° out. Can't really verify the timing any more than that. Till it's started. I am getting spark tho. Verified injectors are wired up correctly. Deflood clean the plugs. Try again. I will get one or two pops but still won't start. Floods the hell out of it every time.
how are the cap and rotor?
are all wires confirmed to be in the right places?
try some new plugs ....
have you tried disabling the pump to see if it will fire once it starts flooding?
Compression numbers are 95-100 on both rotors. Everything on the ignition is good. I'm going to throw in some new plug once I figure out what's flooding it. It wants to fire when you pull the top fuseable link. Once I plug it back in it just floods it. Checked the solenoid for the fuel pressure regulator. Injector wiring checked.
A long time ago I was troubleshooting a 2nd gen that I couldn't unflood. Same symptoms. I had a friend pull start, it finally coughed to life and smoked bad for a while. That also helps get compression on a new engine (spin faster). Never had the issue again.
just had another thought, are you using a timing light?
see where the mark is while cranking, if it's not where it should be, then try advancing or retarding the timing while cranking it and see if it makes any better attempts to fire. if that makes any difference and it still doesn't fire, then physically move the distributor a tooth one way or the other. i have done that a handful of times in the past to get a stubborn engine to fire.
Fresh gas. It was empty when it got here. Had timing light on it ready to go when it goes but no go yet. moved distributor back and forth. When I disconnect the fuel injector fuse. And crank. it wants to go. With fuse in it just soaks the plugs with fuel. Dripping wet.
So my fuel pressure control solenoid valve (orange plug) is bad according to fsm. I have 10 electric solenoid valves and every one is the opposite of this valve. I thought all the electric solenoid valves operated the same way?
Most if not all of the electric solenoid valves I have are from 84-85 12a cars.
