want to install MSD.car has 51mm weber and 2 separate transistor ignition boxes from 1985..1 for lead and 1 for trailing plugs..........need to find the correct install info for the MSD..

Pick the MSD ignition box you are planning on using and check out the installation instructions. The variable is whether or not you are going to get the signal directly from the magnetic pickup or from the OE ignitor. If you get the signal from the magnetic pickup you use the violet and green wire harness. If you are going to use the OE ignitor you will use the White wire.
Do not use a box with a Rev Limiter. So just a 6A is all you need
Putting an MSD on the trailing side is not really worth the money.
If you want to do a Wasted Spark ignition, connect the Orange and Black wires to a dual pole coil and connect the coil directly to both Leading Plugs

I have a street ported 13B with a 51mm EMPI and I run a waste spark ignition with an Analog 6A and an MSD GM dual pole coil on the Leading plugs. The trailing side uses the OE ignitor and an MSD coil.

thanks Scott.....so I would remove the existing coil and replace it with the dual pole and bypass the dizzy and run the wires directly to the 2 leading plugs?

I have also used coils like these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/alm-140402 but they weren't this expensive back when I was using them.

Aloha and many thanks,,,,,,,I ordered the msd 8224 and it's base and am going off the leading plug sensor wires.......my wires from the dizzy are red and green...I assume the red is + and green-........I'll let you know how it works but sounds simpler than 2 coils and 2 6A boxes and MSD agrees........

I can't remember the wire colors and I wouldn't necessarily go by them. Assuming you have a stockish ignition on your car now, I would trace the wiring from the ignitors. One of the wires will go to the negative side of the coil. That will me the other wire is positive.

I'll look at the trailing side of my race car's ignition this weekend to confirm.
