Got My Coil overs today!!
So The car is alive, and in Colorado now!! Ran some sea foam in the carb, probably need some in the tank. Need to replace the spark plugs and wires. Also need new air filter. I still don't have all my power back from when I let the car sit (for 5 years). Special thanks to wackyRacer and Rx7Doc for parts. And again to Billy at ReSpeed. Also big thanks to Black Dragon Auto (Victoria British) My starter solenoid disintegrated when the starter was removed and the went out of their way to make sure I had the part in time.
the coil-overs are awesome even with out the sway bar. (still ordering the sway bar).
here are some pix.

I've never seen a transmition fail in this way before. The bushing in the tailshaft showed no abnormal wear and the out put shaft and input shaft had no slack or slop, the internal gears looked fine. All fixed now though. The car is reading high oil pressure right now.

It WILL scrape. bumpy roads combined with the previous owners bad attempt at an exhaust that hangs much lower than stock. Once I remedy the exhaust situation it will go lower. The car holds the road VERY well now, big improvement. also the angle of the pictures makes the car look higher than it is.
I think I've been by that sign, oh my I love Colorado and Utah.
Great looking car mate, I have Eibach springs and I think they feel great, I can't imagine what some stiff coilovers feel like.

Yep excellent response. excellent cornering. I would have to try to lose grip now. very pleased. I have some play in the steering box but the new suspension setup actually helps. cant wait to add the sway bar. hoping to get the rack and pinion conversion as well. I cant imagine how it will handle!!
I'm glad you're digging it.
My car made me appear God-like at the races this weekend, beating cars I had no business even trying to keep up with. About the nicest one is a supercharged Miata that is set up to the max and has super fat Hoosiers. They had three drivers, and I beat all of them (on my trusty Sumitomos, of course).
I think the car has always been capable of this, but it was just waiting for me to improve as a driver. I pushed the car harder than I ever have before, and changed my driving style just a bit, and boy did it ever pay off.

I got my Sway bar in. I'm hoping to put it on tommorow. Here are some pix.
the bar is in Re-Speed blue. it has a hind of subtle speckled look. the welds are excelent, it really is a shame it goes where it's not visable.

Some over all pix:

The other recent addition to the car: The precious cargo stabilization device. (I only carry the cargo ;my daughter, short distances).

the motor just because, yes I know its dirty.
Again I can't thank Billy at Re-Speed enough. Great guy and great product.
I'm afraid that when I finally get to auto cross my car I'll be placed it a tough class. I just cant help it billy makes such good products, my car will be so awesome when its "done".

From what I've seen of your car, and read, you will most likely be placed in CSP.
You'll be fighting Miatas, maybe an MR2 once in a while.
You're car should be quite competetive.
Here's a thread on my latest race results. https://www.rx7club.com/race-car-tech-103/autocross-can-fb-compete-miatas-863055/
Z3's, supercharged Miatas, S2000s, they all fell to the mighty 7
So much better with a proper suspension! Billy rocks...

Unless you gut the interior, boost/port/13B swap, or build a one off custom suspension, you'll end up in CSP. Replacing stock suspension parts, intake and exhaust are all allowed in CSP. Fun class, and usually some nice cars in it. Awesome work on your suspension. I just hope my tax return in April is enough for me to do the same work.
Here are the installation pix. The first pic. is how the mounting bracket needs to be modified for the new sway bar. I couldn't get a marker to mark on the bracket but a silver colored pencil was perfect.

You have to install as a unit because the radiator is in the way. I tried mounting the brackets first but it was a no go.
Clearances are very tight once it is mounted, measuring the space first helps.
Here is the new linkage. the angle looks off in the pic. but it's not.

Didn't get a chance to test drive yet. I'm afraid of moving up in class because I also plan on a T2 swap and Re-Speed rack and pinion conversion. I'll probably try and make a few events before the rack and pinion conversion. Stainless brake lines, pads and new disks are in the near future as well.

Guess I can't edit my post after I leave the forum. I forgot to ad I'll probably be up against some tough Miata competition. lots of very nice Miatas around here. also Grand Junction is home of Flyn' Miata a Miata specialty tuner shop. http://www.flyinmiata.com/

Either the rack and pinion kit or the swap will put you into SM2. I suggest holding off on that stuff if you want to really be competitive until you've at least had a years worth of seat time in a more tame class. In SM2 your up against purpose built autocross and road race cars.
I know. The 12a just seems so slow on the street and I never liked the steering. I've been shooting for 2011-12 before the t2 and possibly the Rack and pinion. I'm definitely ordering the Rack and pinion before the end of the year or early next year. when I install is a whole other matter. In the mean time I'll try to get as much as I can from the stock port 12a. I have been thinking of installing Miata gears in to the trans. But don't know how that would fly with the rules, also GSL-SE ring gear out back to help acceleration. The T2 swap kinda intimidates me electrically and tuning wise. but I really want it.
Moving up into SM2 wouldn't be so terrible as long as you had the turbo for power. Well, that along with wider wheels to mount bigger tires for more grip, then you need bigger brakes, etc. Seems like a never ending list whenever I start considering it. lol.
What are you using for a carb? I've got RB exhaust and a Sterling carb and love it (the carb I mean, any free flowing exhaust will get you big power).
Have you autocrossed before? If not, then I would advise you to start with what you've got. Even start racing this fall if you can, they've probably got a few more races yet this year. Get your feet wet as soon as possible, because upgrading the car is easy, upgrading the driver not so easy. Seat time will be the most valuable thing that you can do for your car.

Just the Nikki now with smog stuff removed. I' going to be in the market for a Sterling though added to an SA manifold. I have a welder friend who is going to help with a custom exhaust.
