I just realized your in Grand Junction, Colorado.

I used to commute from Green river, the RX hasn't been here since the move. Between 2 jobs and family its hard to find time to work on the car. In august I have a week off. I'll change the clutch then and hopefully bring the car here then.

I havent found many people who are very into cars. most just seem to like the image of it but aren't truly interested in getting there hands dirty.

I was thinking that the zip ties primary purpose was to make assembly easier. I'll remember metal zip ties thanks.

Yeah, mine broke too. Doesn't seem to make any difference, so I'm not worrying about it for now.

I got my struts apart and ready for welding now. I am not a fan of the previous mechanic. one strut came apart effortlessly (with an impact gun). but it was missing the lock washer at the top, and black dragon auto part numbers, 79-835 and 79-836. the other strut would not come apart. the top nut was cross threaded. I had to remove the large nut that holds the cartridge in and slide the assembly off the lower strut tube. then I had to grind flats into the old cartridge piston rod to use a wrench on and a breaker bar on the top nut. an impact gun would not work. broke the nut loose and removed.

Struts are assembled with new coil overs now. If I didn't say it before I'd just like to say that Billy at Re-Speed is awesome. He has been very helpful and quick to help with any and all questions.
I have the Illumina adjustables in them.
Here are the pictures they go on the car Monday 7/20/2009.

Very nice man, you're going to love it!

And I will gladly second your remark on Billy's assistance. Respeed is a great company to deal with, and everyone else should be taking lessons from them when it comes to customer service...

Coil overs are on the car (except for the front passenger) I discovered That I needed the spacer that the previous mechanic left out. Ordered one from Black Dragon. The car is still on jack stands because I still need to change the clutch and replace the tail shaft housing.I'll do the tranny in 2 weeks. Next is RE-Speed front sway bar. Here are pictures:

Sorry about the dirty car. After I get it all nice mechanically I'll get it repainted.

It is an amazing piece. I got to see it at ZoomFest, and got to hold the ReSpeed bar in one hand and the RacingBeat in the other... HUGE difference!

Yeah, I was torn between actually installing the Respeed bar on my car, or framing it and hanging it on the wall in the living room. The wife eventually made the decision for me.
