Glass Sunroof

I'm sure there is probably another thread somewhere answering this question, but I couldn't find it. How much do glass sunroofs go for? I know they're somewhat hard to come by. A guy has one laying around his shop and when I asked him what he wanted for it he just replied "Those things are like gold, aren't they?" haha. I couldn't push him to be the first one to name a price, so what number should I give him?

they usually fo from $100 to $200... sometimes cheaper but usually within that range. they're pricey little buggers. i have one and treat it with the utmost care.

Yep..that is about right. Depends on condition, but $100 to $200 is generally the range with good condition glass falling at about $150. The '79 ones are also much more valuable sine they were only made for that year. Expect to pay closer to $250 or more for one (if you can find one). It also seems as if the prices have been going up in the last few years. Used to be $100 was pretty much the going rate for the '80-'85 style glass, now it is closer to $150 for glass in good shape.

I got lucky and got mine for free.

To answer the original question as the others said 100-200 is fair, I think mine was $130 plus shipping if i remember correctly....

I drove 400 miles round trip to pick up a glass roof, due to it being offered for $55. Of course, that was nearly 2 years ago, when gas wasn't $3.50/gallon......
Does that give you an idea of what they are worth? It all boils down to how bad you want one, and what you will pay.
I now have 2 glass inserts, and do not plan to let either of them go. Of course, I have 2 cars, so they both have a use.

Yeah, I understand. Unlike cost, "worth" is subjective. Hence why I've put 10k into a car I couldn't sell for more than 3k. Doesn't mean I want to pay more than I have to though. Since I don't have to drive 6 hours to get it, it's all about naming the right price that the guy is willing to part with it for.
