A few pics of my mint GSL-SE
Hello all,
I have been a member for several years on the forum and have enjoyed it a lot.
Lots of good info, helpful advice, and its cool to share and see other peoples experiences
with the Mazda Rx-7.
I have owned several examples since the mid 1980's. My first was a 1984 GS, black with red,
with 17k miles. A few others, including my latest which I have owned about 6 years now,
is a restored 1988 turbo 2.
The other car I have tucked away in my garage is my all time favorite.
Its a 1984 GSL-SE, with 24k miles. sunbeam silver metallic, with grey cloth.
This car is all original minus tires, battery, plugs and wires.
I have owned it since about 1997 and it is definately one of the best in the country.
It starts on the first crank, hums like an angel, and still has the new mazda smell.
It is the cleanest car ever. I wont say how many hours I spent on it cleaning, its almost sinful, ha
but spending time at home keeps me outta trouble.
I will download a few pics of the gsl-se. They are a few years old, but car just keeps getting better with age, like me. Life is fun.

Thanks all for the nice comments, its cool to share the Rx-7 vibe.
Mazdaverx... I will send you some digital pics soon, like you said, so they show up bigger,
or I can check out the hosting sites.
The car really is special. I have the window sticker laminated and taped to the window.
I have the original keys and the floor mats are original and look new still.
When I get in, the seats still have that new feeling, kinda hard to describe, everything is rock solid and has the new vibe.
Underneath the car is as the day it left the factory, all the suspension, brakes, wheel hubs,
etc, clean as day 1.
I did have to change the fuel pump, thats where the pic came from with me holding it under the car. The coolant resovoir was getting a little brittle, so I got a new one, afraid it might leak or drip. I think I changed the interior dome light lens, or repaired it, the tab thing.
Besides that, its the best starting car Ive ever owned, and it idles, runs, brakes, all like a dream.
I have been looking for a set of original tires for years, never found any, kinda impossible.
I purchased it on my 30th birthday in may 1997, from a guy whose wife was pregnant, and I just happened to show up at the right time, there is a God ! ha.
I will post a few more pics.

Hey Mazdaverx13b, yeah I will send a few pics, Ive got to sort thru all of them over the years and download them on my newer computer also.
I do have ALL the original documentation, window sticker, bill of sale in 1984, and a dozen other little pamphlets, brochures, etc... also every maintenance/repair bill, notes, etc, since car was new. I will post a pic of that later on today.
I see you have 5 Rx-7's, and over 10k posts, a definate lifelong fan for sure. Cool.
Hoping to get the car outta the garage this weekend, driveway is clearing and all.
I do have a small vid on youtube of the car, actually my 88 turbo, just starting it up in the garage, I had cabin fever, not a professional vid, but it does show the cars, and also
the gsl-se in the background. I can post the link if youd like. Hoping to make a better one with driving when it thaws.

The documentation consists of the original window sticker, which I laminated.
Also a little side sticker with special add ons from the dealer.
The base price was 15,095. plus 210 freight plus floor mats 50.00, plus about 800 in dealer add ons, total price as new 16,185.
The original service contract, a yellow book on warranty info, a blue book with a list of american mazda dealers, a pirelli tire warrany booklet, an AC pamphlet, a book about asking mazda questions, and 2 cartoon brochures saying how to keep an eye on the oil level, etc.
The 4 things to the right are ' thermo gaurd ' services, the add ons, paint sealant, rust, fabric,
underbody coatings. Im not a big fan of these on any car, kinda a scam, but the underbody one did hold up.
To the left are all the receipts for work and service.
The car was purchased at plaza mazda in kansas, dont know if they are around any more.
Its great to have all the original stuff, plus I know the first owner, so that is cool too.

Lives on the Forum
Very nice! I'm not usually a fan of stock (first thing I want to do is make them better/faster/stronger), but that one I'll make an exception for.

hello all,
I havent been on the forum much lately but still lovin my cars.
Took the gsl-se out for a spin last night, got things warmed up and cycling again.
Everything works and ran perfect in all regards. Fun.
A couple months ago I posted that the car was running a little choppy, but diled and reved find standing still... found out the battery cable was a little loose, thats all, ha.
the kind of easy repairs I like. I will be getting a battery tender also.
