Early '78 on Fleabay: SA22C - 511439
THIS IS NOT MY CAR. I DO NOT KNOW THE OWNER/SELLER. NOT MY FLEABAY AD.
One of my buddies sent me a link to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-...#ht_500wt_1182
VIN: SA22C - 511439
I'm trying to go and look at it this weekend, since the car is located in close proximity to where I stay on the weekends/work on the weekends. I'll post my findings next week.

That looks to be an FB trans shown in that one picture - rear remoted shift housing.
$2500 for somebody else's incomplete strip-down project? Please. Who knows how many hundreds of important little bits are missing?
I'd like to buy the seats, though.

Yikes......2500 bucks? AND its in 2500 pieces? Not sure i would sink that much into it, even being an early car...since it might actually be extra parts from 20 or so cars and a hull......

the spare engine is an S4 NA, and so is the trans actually.
interesting add, that would be exactly what i'm looking for if i wanted to make Peepers an SA, but $2500 is a LOT....

$2500 is WAY too much (buddy who tipped me off to this was astonished at how much they're asking). I'm going to inspect the chassis, see if the motors will spin, check the condition of interior parts, etc. and I'll report back.

I agree that the price IS high compared to what's available out there and what we know as "normal and customary" Especially considering that it's a project in pieces......
Not trying to bash anyone on here but I've noticed how we generally wish our chosen objects of affection to be appreciated more and valued higher. At the same time, we generally pick apart (I'm as guilty as any) and criticize others when they do ask the premium prices we'd all like for our own vehicles.
Seems to me that if we, the Rx-7 enthusists aren't willing to pony over any $$$, who else would? In a way, we are helping to keep our cars under appreciated or "affordable" depending on how you want to look at it. This is all just an observation on my part. The market is driven by what people will pay and we-the most likely customers aren't shy about speaking.
We have it fairly good right now, cars and parts are still out there. As the supply slowly goes away prices will creep up, as long as there are still demands. Some of our children or grandchildren may look back and say "Damn, that was a helluva deal"!

Personally I see things that are not correct and in a search for a low VIN completeness would be a factor.
I hope I wasn't mistaken there is no way in hell my car is worth the figure I threw out althou I have a considerably lower vin, was just bustin nuts
But yes the well has something in there now but it is drying up as some of parts are getting super hard to find

The ad says something about "headers" being included. I'll keep an eye out for some SDJ action, and even if the car isn't worth it, I'll try and get my hands on any decent pieces I can afford and pass them on to the RX-7 community.
