Daytona Blue

I have been looking with no luck thus far for pictures to help me decide. As some may know my SA is a 4/78 car but it also was painted with A9 aka Daytona Blue. While the door jams were painted and the top covered with a black vinyl top which is in excellent shape (what says 70's/80's more then a vinyl top? lol) Well as I was saying the engine bay and underside of the hood were left in the orignal paint.

Has anyone come across any pics of the original color? I am under the impression the pale yellows far our numbered the Daytona Blues but I don't know

Also I am open to input, she is the SA in my sig, do I stay black or go semi original keeping the rims and vinyl top but going back to the blue?

7s never came from the factory with vinyl tops or those rims. You need some
waffles and get a respray to the blue color. How's your interior?

I'm partial to the stock look, doesn't get much better than that.

lol thanks I know, I said semi, I kind of dig the top thou and lord knows there has been too much effort to get the rims to the point they are now, they are an older set on Enkie's but I have been promised a set of waffles from one of our guys, then I'll have the choice how to roll

Interior: sadly the original plaid is falling apart (I want to have them redone), I will be changing the carpet this weeked and have gotten my hands on I beleive they are seats from a LS but I will take them from the camel'ish color to black to match the rest, after the a/c is installed and working of course. Then I have to adress the dash as it is cracked but want to maintain my speaker opening over the glovebox. Anything I do to her I make sure can be undone with nearly no evidence

Where I am stuck is imagining the entire car in the original color

A9 is indeed a 79 only color you need to search through these threads there was a recent purchase of an A9 car in NC that was pretty original. I have also posted pictures in the way back range (like 2-3 years) of a 75k mile A9 car. The blue his car was is a darker mettalic blue similar in color to the Rx8 blue "winning blue"

This might come in handy, too:

Unsure of origin or provenance - - found it around here a couple years ago, I think.

I have some experience/exposure with automotive refinish, it can be slightly off due to the mixing process, no pre-packed available that I am aware of. I know the person I will have mix it for me and I am sure she will get it dead on

I actually have someone from our local forum photo shopping the color onto my car, I think it is going to look flat out biotchin'
