custom waffles
Id like to see pictures of different colored waffles if you have any. Concidering refinishing mine again. Silver is boring... the car is white. I think white waffles would look great in a high gloss kinda of like 10AE wheels. Just no blue waffles!

When I first bought my LS some one had painted the gold waffles white. It looked horrible way too much white. Thank goodness they didn't paint the spare so I had an original to go by when I restored them back to gold.

Even if you liked the look of white, which I dont think you would once you saw it, it would be a HUGH pain in the *** to keep clean. Between the white showing every spec of dirt and the nooks and crannies that the waffles have you would never be able to keep them clean.
I vote gold. I have a white car and had gold wheels for a long time, looks nice.

I had a similar idea for my trackday waffles with hoosiers or toyos on them. I would paint them
black and then wipe down the spokes and ridges to get highlights, then clear coat it all. That
way when the brake dust is heavy just a quick wipe with a towel on the nonblack portions will
make em look clean. I also toyed with the idea of a read strip on the lip but that might just
scream ricer too much.
I don't think I would ever machine em, these waffles will be collectables because we all know
how cool they are.

Cool idea but I'd bet you'd have as much or more invested in the wheels as you did with the rest of the whole car. The cast surfaces would have to be all smoothed down then polished out. Not sure it would look right to try and do over a rough surface. But, to each their own. There's a lot of "unique" customizations out there.
