Color combinations for SA/FB

Hi, In the USDM sales brochures I have seen the exterior color options are listed, however, in contrast to e.g. Japanese sales brochures a lot of information is missing:

1) The exterior colors are not shown
2) The interior color/fabric options are not mentioned
3) The interior color/fabric options are not shown
4) The exterior/interior color combinations are not indicated

Were all of the above shown in a separate color options folder as have been used by many other manufacturers?

Or would only the dealer have sales material showing the options?

i have a jdm brochure of the first series sa22c that listed color. this was when it only came in four colors (white, green, yellow, and black) and had plaid seat patterns. the japanese brochures are usually more detailed than the american ones

Never seen any detailed layouts in N.American literature for interior colors. Just whatever happened to appear in the photo'd cars in the brochures. Nor have I ever seen any separate dealer info with this information - its all about the technology of the cars. For the SA cars, except the Specials, colors were pretty well limited to some version of Black or Red/burgandy. 3 choices of finish: cloth insert in plaid (1979), cloth insert in solid color (1980), vinyl in black (79, 80).

Because each interior color choice was "locked in" at the factory based on the exterior color (as directed by Mazda USA I am sure), customers chose there exterior colors and accepted whatever interior that color was assigned.

It may be that black and red/wine were (by far) the most common interior colors, however, in the parts catalogs it appears that for all seat materials also brown (or beige or tan depending on seat material and on how early the car is) was offered - at least in theory.

In Europe black and brown are the most common seat colours with red/wine being the rarest.

Certainly possible - but also note that there are _numerous_ items in the US parts catalogues that never actually _appeared_ on production cars in the US:
-full tool kit
-over head interior light console
for example-
