Checking this FB out today - What you all think?

I have been looking for an RX for a while now, and I apologize in advance for those on the forums that have sent me info about your cars - I've been waiting to see how a few local leads go before having to travel a long way to check out your cars.

That said,

I talked with a guy last night about this one, and I'm going to check it out after work today. Crappy pics, yes, but he assures me it looks much better in person.
He says he purchased it a while ago from an older gentleman who babied it, but had to let it sit for a while due to illness. He purchased it, and to get it running required a new radiator, carburetor, and gas tank. These items were replaced as well as a new master/slave cylinder for the clutch. A minor tune up was recently done with new plugs/wires/fluids. He said it runs a slightly rough because the carb has not been fully tuned, but he was planning to get that done this week. Other than that, all I know is it is a base model, no power anything, and for some reason, he has painted the factory wheels black... I would definitely need to either get new wheels or find some way of getting that paint off. It is supposed to be all stock, and the exterior and interior in excellent shape. He says there is no rust. Asking price is $1500. What do you all think? I was planning on trying to get him down to about $1200, because I have a max of $1500 and need to have the extra funds to get the title transferred/taxes/crap.

Opinions?

Thanks in Advance!
-Jeremy

Yeah, I apologize about the pics - they are the same size as the originals that I was sent. I think they were taken with a phone...

yeah the pics are useless...

and mileage? So you would be the THIRD owner? If the miles are reasonable and you would be the 3rd owner...it may be worth it. Still need to drive it around and see it start up COLD etc. When you go see it...tell him specifically you want to see a COLD start. No use to you to see it once its all warmed up. You want to start it up yourself...COLD..and drive it around COLD...and you warm it up yourself...while cruising around. All the bugs and gremlins are more likely to appear when the car is cold...

obviously check for oil spots where it is parked etc. basics...good luck!
