I am gonna be tring to put a nikki on my car. MAYBE every time i look at on of these carb I get sick to my stomch. Any way i searched for pics some the links no longer work others just wasnt much help. I would like to see nikki' in an 85 with emission removed. Also I thing we should post pics of other carb and intakes to help others out in the future. I ll get some pics of my mikuni before I remove it to help anyone that may be installing 1 like the buyer that is going to get mine.

Here they are. Just remember, the Nikki can be a beautiful piece of artwork if done properly. If you take your time with it, I think it is as visually appealing as any Dell, Weber, Mikuni, or Holley. Plus having four barrels instead of two lets you tune the engine for a wider RPM range. The Nikki doesn't really get the credit it deserves...

Awesome clean.

Couple questions. Are you using a coolant level sensor? I just got a new radiator and noticed that plug in the middle and it looks like you left the plug in?

Also nice clean carb. What are you using for venting the crankcase and oil pipe?
And no vac advance huh?

The hardest part of a Nikki is when they are stock. Once you ditch all that obnoxious emissions crap they are pretty simple. I was scared to death of mine at first, and I mean that with all seriousness. After you dive into one, and realize how much stuff you can take off and throw away, you learn that there really is a carburetor hiding in there. Don't be scared of it Nick, you'll get the hang of it. Heck, if you want you can always throw that Nikki in a box and come on up to my place. I'm only about 3 hours from you. I'd be more than happy to help you out if you need some advice...

My car was still being put back together at that point. Most of the setup isn't finalized when that picture was taken. I ALWAYS run a coolant level sensor, and just didn't have it put in the new radiator yet. I vent the lung mustard with a regular old PCV valve that I run off the oil pipe into the carb air horn. The vac advance wasn't hooked up yet either when I took the picture. I run the dizzy to one of the first two nipples on the carb spacer. Can't remember which one right now....

I may take youup on that. Since most of the local guys around here run EFI no one really knows much about the nikki.

Check out this thread in the archives that I made. Follow this diagram as closely as possible when rebuilding/stripping the nikki. It makes life a lot easier...
