Bin Cover Hinges
I butchered a DIY bin hinge fix to see what it would look like.
Anyone got any more fancy, cleaner, better looking bin hinge fix?🤔🧐

Yep, agree.
Hard to find low profile hinges. The pin is always the issue..
Considering small drawer sliders; would make the lid slide up rather than swing open.🤔

I just used black Gorilla duct tape. Literally can't tell it's there unless you are looking for it and worst case scenario it falls apart again and I need to scrub off some adhesive.

The tape forms the pivot of the hinge, I removed the bin and pulled apart the lid and taped it on the back side of hinge (If the original flexible plastic hing was still intact, it would be taping along the flat portion.
Here's a couple pictures. On the second picture you can just make out the sticky side of the tape behind the hinge.
Back side of taped hinge.
Front side of the taped hinge.

Ahhh, makes since. I had four bins; only one came with the remnant of half a hinge.
The rest, nothing.
That's why I was asking how you did it.
Now I understand; but it won't work for me, unfortunately.

Google "piano hinge". They are long thin hinges that come in a wide variety of sizes and might be perfect for this application. You'll still have to pop-rivet or screw the hinge in place, but they're made for applications like this. Boat owners use them for bin hinges all the time.

Yep; went that route earlier. So far the hinges I've used, including a Home Depot piano type hinge, show.
The clearance between the bin rim and the lid is miniscule. Velcro, or maybe double stick tape of magnets are the only things I've found so far that keep the profile and look of the bin as 'original' as possible.
