The rotor ones look nice though. The set after the discount is cheaper then buying factory replacement rubber pads (mine are worn). Thanks!

I like your choice.
How much does your foot slip on the gas pedal?
I mean how slippery is the finish? I'm always scared my foot would slip off the brake (doesn't look like a problem with your choice) pedal with metal pedals.

Edit: I drive in leather soled shoes on sunday and I find they are slippery enough on rubber pedals.

i used to race cars for fun. street racing and those style of pedals were better then the rubber kind. very good for heel toe and some kinds of clutch less shifting. in my experience the type of shoe really doesn't matter. my old "racing" shoes had leather soles for better pedal feel and control. when i get the money to get in to legal racing im going to have these pedals installed but this time nicer shoes.

The aluminum is very grippy. The smooth gas pedal is not super smooth, but instead has a slight rough surface. Since the stock gas pedal cover is plastic, not rubber, these pedals have much more grip. I haven't driven the car yet with them, as I am still trying to fix my bloody tie rod end issue.

I got the rotor style ones when they first came out (spent ~75$ IRC) and was surprised how grippy they were (I wear Vans btw). My only problem was getting the holes drilled so I could still tighten the bolts without running into the pedal arm thinge.. No big deal I just ended up with a few extra holes under the pedal. "They're speed holes!"

How many freaking screws did you need? I used 11 total, and I still had some left over.

With a good drill, some sharp bits and cutting fluid, the pedals are easy as pie to drill.

Ah, I think they have beefed up their screws then. They are what appear to be stainless countersunk hex socket head machine screws now.

Will these fit 79-80 SA22C?

While I have kept my 80 Rx-7 completely original all these years, my pads are showing wear and I was thinking about replacing them with new rubber/plastic pads, that is until I found this thread. These are sweet and while I am not excited about having to take time to drill holes in my pads to install, I'm tempting to undertake this functional minor modification.

These will fit the 79-80 Series 1 won't they? Pardon my ignorance, but the model number suggests that they are for the FB model, but then in parenthesis it has (S1 &S2) which I take is for Series 1 and Series 2.

S1 = SA, so yes they will fit. Many times people will just call all 1st gens FBs (even though not true) since the majority of 1st gens are FBs.
