yesterday i went out with the Corvette club and autocrossed for the first time. i did suprisingly well and got compliments from many experienced drivers on my driving skill. i ran three runs around the one mile course and did not hit one cone. the tires on the 7 were so terrible (which i knew going into the race that they would hold me back) that my Corvette friend said that my shirt should have said "Got Tires" instead of "Got Rotary". i posted some good lap times i thought. 1:30 for the first run, 1:26 for the second, and 1:28 for the third. here are a couple of pics: i'll work on getting a video up.









and it was such a good day that i decided to come home and work on my 88 10AE. got the water pump leak fixed and the new turbo on and i couldn't be happier!

Way to represent the rotary Dave! Strong showing with all those Vettes. That looks like a challenging 1M course. Kudos on your driving skill - not knocking a single cone. The sound of your less-than-competitive tires came through well on your video. Must have been a ton of fun.

Yeah AutoX is a lot of fun. I've yet to take my FB on a track. I can't wait to though.

 

I love tossing my FB around the autox course. Hella fun, and not too pricey. Hard combo to beat.
