Looks like second gear is a charm. I don't think I saw you shift once after the start.

That's how most Auto-X courses are. Someone smart once told me if you're having to downshift, you're driving the course wrong. Of course, that's only true for proper courses, but still.

Looks like that was a real fun course. When are you planning on coming up for a TAMSCC event next? I wasn't there last time you showed up.

Hey, if you wanna help rebuild a 12A, I'm going to be going through mine when I can muster up the funding. I'll be at that first Autocross for sure, not sure what I'll be driving, though.

Yeah, I'm working there on and off through the coming semester, still rebuilding the driving school's cars.

My buddy's looking to get a first-gen Miata before the 1st Auto-X, and if so, I'll be codriving that, but if there's fun runs I might take you up on that offer.

Haha, I live in Canadia and we don't even have snow here. Although I think I might be a mile or so further south than you.

Awesome video, your running very smoothly through that course.

Thanks for the compliment.... I am pretty new at this, so I am still learning.

My next purchase is a set of Hoosier A6's and a set of Panasport wheels.... This purchase will cost more than the whole rest of the car has cost me!!!

Saving my nickles and dimes!!

24 autocrosses? Damn man, I hit up everyone I can but due to living in Minnesota I only made it to 5 last summer. Our last event in the beginning of october it was in the 30s and there was ice on the course. I had salt and snow on my car, lol. It was cold enough that the magnetic numbers weren't forming to the metal, and we had to tape them on. The joys of living in the frozen north...

Well driving on Ice should add a little extra excitement to the race!!!

I would race every weekend if I could. In fact, I could race every weekend here in Texas, but some events would be 3 hours away!!

Your car doesn't sound smooth at all. If you listen to any given part of the video, it doesn't gradually rev, it sounds like it clicks up in increments of 300 RPM instantly.

Instead of:
"vvvvvvvvrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAMM MMMM"

it's:

"vir IR RUR ROAH! GUREEEEEEEe AAAAAAAAAHHHH OAAHHAAAAAUMAU RUH RUH RUH RUH"

Sounds like it's trying to sing you a song man especially after 35 seconds in.

Skip the Panasports, and hold out for some 10" wide wheels so you can run the new 255/13 Hoosiers. That's my plan for next season! The Miatas won't even come off the trailer when they see me pull in. lol.

Interesting debate Kentetsu.... another fellow CSP driver and myself have been having the 255 vs. 225 hoosier debate.

He is VERY versed in the "science" of autocrossing. He used to race a 1st gen and was VERY competitive. Now he races in a class in a last gen MR.2

He feels the 225 will do the job adequately and that the 255 is too big and would rob precious power from the stock 12a.

I am kinda on the fence here.... I don't neccessarily need panasports, I just like the way they look. Hell I could get 9-10" wide diamonds and do the same thing.

What are your thoughts??
