Another 1st gen for Market Research
I found this ebay auction interesting. A very clean and stock looking 84 at (I believe) no reserve. Looks to have some original documentation and is being presented in a professional mannor. From reading the ad, it appears this car was recently for sale from another dealer. It also seems there is an overseas bidder who says he is serious and very interested. I'll watch with interest.

It has most likely been pampered as a 2nd car or toy and not daily driven to a great extent. From the under hood, this is a good example of a car that has been garaged and kept clean the majority of it's life, not left to deteriorate and be brought back.
Unless you keep it in a vacume bag, you'll have small amounts of discoloration / grime or coorosion. This car has some of this in the normal locations-around the hood hinge / header pannel area and in some nooks and crannies of the engine bay. But it's minor and to me, serves to support the indicated 43K mileage. Besides the recent buff and polish, it has an honest appearance to me.
Just a couple of minor irritations, It's missing the plastic strut nut cap on the passanger side tower, some of the underhood rubber seals around the firewall and fenders need some TLC and re blackening, same with the body trim caps for the wipers. and a nice, new blingly radiator cap would be a nice touch. I agree with Stu on the color, but still, it's not an SA.

that's a ridiculous amount of armor all in those heater hoses and plastic in that bay....looks good, but if those hoses aren't replaced in a year or two they'll start dry rotting. unless they used non silicate armor all which is highly unlikely. Great detail tho. mad props.

i like! that's a very nice car. it doesn't look to have been detailed under the hood, there is actually too much dirt.
about the only thing i see is the air cleaner lid isn't on right, and even I can fix that!
there is also a weird rubber plug on the passenger side on the rocker panel, you can see it with the door open. its the kind of plug used when the car gets paintless dent repair, but its in a strange place...

I think what you see is are plugs used after drilling a hole for rustproofing. In closer inspection, some parts may have been painted at some time. There is one engine shot where the shop light reflects across the windshield cowl and washer nozzel. The reflection shows some classic orange peel, more than what I've saw from the factory. The price seems unusually strong, even at this point.
