Am I the only one?/Post your quirks
Everyday I come home from work (minus Sundays) pretty tired. I can't wait to get home and just crash on my Lazyboy. Well, now when I enter my room, this is what I see:
Yeah, a -SE rotor and Eshaft, Fuel filter (no, it does not smell like gas.... anymore...), Rotary Engine badge, 82 Instrument cluster, spare dizzy and a homebrew 1st gen direct fire.
Has anyone ever played The Sims? Well, in the game you can buy objects (lava lamps, in ground pools, furniture) and it increases the rating of the room and happiness of the people who are in it. When I get home, this stuff is right in my line of sight, and it makes me smile. Plus I have tons more parts in the garage.
Am I the only one like this?
What are your quirks?
(all this is first gen parts, so no lounge move please!)

When I have parts ready to be installed, I'm the same way. I let parts accumulate, just WAITING for the perfect day to roll by so that I can go out there and rip and replace what I'm wanting.
Should've seen me when I had my little pickup. I had a new manifold, throttle body spacer, camshaft, tubular headers.....but I had to wait for my vacation week to install it all. But, it kept me going seeing those parts.

I want a speedo thats not limited to 85 =(
I have the RB road race header for the bridge 13B sitting in my dining room. Had the holley for it in my room on top of my bass rig for awhile too. Smell got to be a little much though. So it sits next to the header. Always nice to walk in and see those.

dark side i sense in him
I do the same thing as 85FB- let them accumulate then have a hay day installing them - but I also agree- it does make me happy when I walk by and the anticipation hits you.

I know how you guys feel. I've been getting parts from all points of the forum and today I just couldn't wait anymore. Installed the exhaust, manifold, carb, fuel pump and fired her up today! What a feeling! All that in 40 degree weather!

Damn-you should see my dining room, you'd cream your pants. My COMPLETE suspension (Respeed stage II with 15:1 r&p, rod end tie rod kit, and billet aluminum steering arms, RB front and rear sway bars, RB front and rear coils, SE strut housings-rear axle in garage, urethane bushings, tweakit.com gilmore drive pulley kit, dimpled and slotted front and rear discs, front and rear reman'ed calipers painted red, MOMO tuner steering wheel and adapter-with yellow horn button, reman'ed master cylinder, RB adjustable LCA's, SneedSpeedShop.com aluminum fan shroud with e-fan, Hawk HPS pads, etc-even more I can't remember!!!) is gathering dust in there because I can't find time to work on it (I'm out of town five days a week) and it pisses me off. I want to see the parts on the car, not in my house! But yea, having my own home and parts lying around is more comfortable and enjoyable than having parents yelling at you to put stuff up-I just wish I had the time to work on it!!!

my room at my paents house was filled with rx7 stuff: FD seats, brand new IMSA front bumper, T2 seats, full MSD set up, full SE conversion for a 84-85 GSL, SE wheels, konig wheels, a few spoilers, etc etc. at one point in time i had two set of Works wheels beside my bed. one set got put on the SA and the other had to be sold

Oops-I forgot to mention my Illumina's (complete set-which I had to have the front rods turned down to fit the next item), ReSpeed camber plates, and front coilover kit currently without springs (I'll eventually sell the RB springs after my initial ride height is set and the coilovers swapped in). I've got more stuff too that I can't think of right now...Any FB owner would have a field day in my dining room. And there's the two 13b's in the garage...I don't mean to brag, I just want to get you guys hyped up to work on your cars while I can't...Turn a wrench for me!

This year I don't have any parts.. yet. Last year I had my RB Suspension kit and my brake parts on a table in my spare room. I'd sometimes go in and just tinker with everything before I finally got around to installing it all. One of the few things that just changes my day is to walk into a room and see a bunch of parts. Puts me in a good mood every time.
