Am I fast enough to beat a G35?
I have a 1984 FB with the SA motor(fmoc) that runs GRREAT!! I also have RB intake and RB headers with the high-flow cat thing.
My buddy keeps telling me that he can beat me in his stock Infinity G35 Coupe.
I do not know what my 1/4 time is or even the HP I am running...sorry
What do yall think?? Can I beat him??

The G35 is a mean car. It's got the power to back up its weight. Best chance to win against it is to loosen his lug nuts to the final 2 threads.
But, seriously now, no, the G35 will win. The 3.5L V6 pumps out 306HP (6800 RPM) and 298FT/LB of torque (at 5200 RPM), it's very well made. Prolly the only Infiniti I'd want to own. *L*

there was a thread not too long ago liek this but it was more or less along the lines of how can i beat a mercury muraurda (sp?) it was funny how some many people who know nothing about that car bashed it. the same thing about the g35, yeah its based on the 350z plat form but its roots are the skyline. look on the net or youtube of videos of the skyline v35 (jspec) some crazey stuff you can do with the car if you have money.

G35 stock trim are very slow. I have driven many in all years and trans combos and have never even felt a hint of performance in them, the 350z is very different story. the z has some giddie up and go. The added luxury (weight) of the g holds it back. Just fine for an everyday commute but not fast enough to brag on 80's rx7's by any means.
To awnser your question race them from a 3rd gear 60 roll and find out.

g's are probably somewhere in the mid to high 6's 0-60 with a decent driver shifting.
your 7 is probably in the mid to high 7's 0-60 with a decent driver shifting.
race should be close, post times and results when it goes down.
edit: take your subs and amps out then race.

and Althought G35 have 270HP but it also weight 3500LB, so that made G35 power ratio to 190HP per ton(2200LB). so in stock form they are no way you can beat a G35. Standing start.... above 60 mile. or Top speed.
In order to beat the Stock G35 you will need aleast 200HP or 150WHP. that will make your power ratio better then G35. but you still wont able to beat his Top speed.
Is fun to drive Old car. they are cheap, light weight and fun to drive and cool too. but you will need to spend a lot of money to keep up with modern sports car.
check up one of my thread to see how a 1981 RX-7 can keep up with modern sports car
