Nice find 1 owner 8/79 SA
Won on Ebay for 1500.00 from Erie Colorado. One of the pics shows the hood prop on the passengers side, ive had a few other 79s and neverseen that. Anyway i plan on keeping it completely stock and under car cover for many years.

Ive driven it about three times so far and runs very good. Had it on a lift at work looking underneath and there really isnt and road dirt on it, so either Colorado has the cleanest roads around or it actually has 37,102 miles on it.

Some of the real early SA's had the hood prop rod on the passenger side. One of the spare hoods I have is set up for the right side. When they started importing them to the US, I think all the complaining about having to walk to the other side of the car made them put a US prop rod version on there. If you think about it, the rod being on the right side makes sense on a right hand drive. A real nice find there.

I forgot to tell you guys that the owner sent some paper work and a large envelope and inside was a 10x12 picture of the car. The picture is more like a print or drawing but the envelopes return address was mazda corp. So i guessing when they originally bought it mazda sent them a portrait of there car, pretty cool.

Thanks guys, the short story is i was goofin around on ebay came across it with 3 hrs to go, put in my max bid and won. I never got a chance to email or talk to the owner until it was over. He said hed tried to sell this 3 times on ebay with no luck. I knew from the description that the owner had to be 40-50 years old,(not knowing what a find he had) and i was right. Turns out that this is a car that his dad bought for his mom in 1979 and they have passed away recently. The siblings devided there belongings and he got the car. He then told me they had been dissabled for the past 15yrs and no one drove the car only started it. Which when i drove it home (20 miles) it felt like the tires were square.

Get some POR 15 or Hammerite Rust Cap and paint whatever you can on the underbody and frame. And you see that rust spot on the cooler cover. POR that bad boy.
It looks like excellent condition I like that paint color.
