Aftermarket Seats for your 1st Gen

I'm trying to track down a place where I can purchase a set of Recaro SE seats.. very hard to find now a days. Been looking at various plans on the web for about a week now with no luck. Curious as to what some of you fellow 1st gen owners put into your cars that isn't stock. I've seen a few cars with RX-8 seats which didn't look too bad. I've currently got a set of Tenzo R seats but want to replace. Here's a pic of the Recaro SE seats!

i'm not a fan of those recaros, they look good, but its seriously a piece of wood with foam on it. its good black forest german wood, but still....

i've got a pair of T2 seats, its a bolt in, and for the track i have an older sparco that's mounted on stock rails.

in my old black GSL-SE, i had a recaro pole position, again on stock rails. very comfortable, especially on long drives

I've got a friend who picked these up 8 years ago and seems to like them. What about the seats that replaced the SE version? Recaro Speed:

I put a set of corbeau forza's in my 85. they fit fairly well and are really comfortable and supportive. and the best part of all is that they are reasonably priced.

Very nice. Those look similar to my Tenzo R's. My only problem with these seats is that they stick out on the upper sides and mine at least hit the door panels.

Turbo II seats are the best bang for the buck for a 1st gen. They look good. Fit good., and best of all - BOLT IN.

Can't disagree with you there. It's always an option and easy to come by which is nice. In all honestly, I'm probably gearing more towards something a bit nicer and don't mind spending the $. Just a matter of researching and seeing what else is out there and fits well in a 1st gen.

The seats you originally posted were a stock seat for a couple lower end cars (meaning they sold a lot) back in the 80's so you might have some luck looking around at junkyards and what not, for a pair if you're hell bent on getting them.

TII seats are a great option. I used them for a while. Being a direct bolt in is always a bonus. I'm also a really big fan of FD seats.
