85' power windows not working.....

So after getting the car running nicely after years of sitting, the power windows don't work on either side....

Is there a DIY tutorial kicking around somewhere about cleaning the switches / other issues for these

If it helps I do remember them getting slower when they used to work

Thanks Paul

Have you checked the fuses? You may have blown a fuse after engaging the window motors after sitting all that time.

If they were getting groggy when you parked it, you probably should just go ahead and recondition both units.

This involves taking the door panels off and getting access to the window regulators and railings, but once you get there it's pretty straight forward what you need to do.

Clean, lubricate and adjust the rails if necessary to get them working smoothly.
