I've looked all over the forum and can't find anything on it. How much trouble would it be putting a tranny out of an 83 in my 79. I want the shorter throw and having the shifter closer to me. I know I need to make a spot for it in the tranny tunnel but what else goers into this swap. Help please.

 

i think the mounting location under the car is different also.

 

I would help, but I don't know where my 5 speed came from... It was the previous owner's doings.


I do know that it is not stock, and I'm under the impression the donner car was a latter model (like FB or something).


However, I don't see why I would not be able to flip flop my 4 speed for the five speed transmission. that is in the car now.
