A couple wheel result pics. Yes, there was a guy from somewhere like Portugal or some place who posted some pics and a story on here about making his own Kermit special, using a LH drive car. I've thought about it too but you'd end up with 15-20K invested to do it right. Might be different if you could get something close to that for these cars, but currently half that amount is about normal tops.
The 2 tone brown in spark cars are the only SA's that came in something close to tan. The draker brown pictured above is an 80 LS interior. Some FB's had a biege interior like the lighter color in the spark car, to include the upper dash piece. The best bet would most likely be to find the best parts regardless of color and paint them to suit.

Banzai, thanks! Yea, I need to do it. Just have to find the time, plus I'm a little concerned about the 1990 vintage tires that came on the car, so I'll probably jack her up soon, pull the wheels and tires, replace the rubber while I can still get 13 inch rubber, then clean up the wheels.

I have a brand new wheel for a spare and also determined this by refinishing a set.
So I'm a strip, polish and paint kind of guys. Either way you need to clear coat to
protect the raw aluminium or the paint.

Tim, this is the first I have seen of this car. I bought one just like it in 1978 (SA22C505733). The best car I ever owned. Got rid of it at 225,000 miles after I got my 1995 FD. It averaged 21.5 miles over the first 100K. I quit recording after that. I disassembled the engine at 125,000 for a minor leak between the rotor housing and center housing. It turned out to be a small oil passage Oring that was installed twisted from new. Amazing it lasted 125K miles.
I would love to see it in the flesh.
I think I have all my old records as well as a factory Maintenance and Wiring manuals.
I miss the old days when you could easily work on your car. Let me know if you ever decide to sell it.

Thanks to Stu watching out for rare parts for me, look what I picked up this weekend. Yup, the corresponding passenger side tail in NOS condition. Brand spank'in new, never used. What's the chance of that???

DAAAANNNNGGGGGGG..... They belong in a MUSEUM!! I have one really good set I picked up from another member here, and I've collected some other drivers side lenses, but I only have one the one extra passenger side tail light. That's an awesome score Tim - good job!

Guys,
Just got done replacing my rear hatch carpet and rear tail light cover. Got the rear hatch piece from "stockinteriors.com" and ordered some extra in the same color. Had a local interior shop change out my stock faded rear carpet on the tail light cover with the extra carpet purchased from stockinteriors. Color match to OEM stock is not dead nuts, but pretty darn close. Also scored a new latch cover in black and painted it "wine" to match my interior. If you look at post #68 and #72 you can see the improvement.

I just purchased their "base" carpet. To me it looks closest to stock thickness-wise. Plus, my stock insulation was still in mint condition. Not sure what color you're looking to purchase, but I ordered several samples in different colors to try and get as close as possible since I opted not to change out my front carpet. Samples came quickly and my final order was to my door in less than 2 weeks. Overall, very satisfied.

Looks very nice and an early build car too. Not a knock, just an observation but it's had a repaint. The black chin spoiler and debadging are dead givaways. A non A/C, non sunroof car and I,m not quite sure what the silver cannister on the RH inner fender is. It's visible due to the missing intake snorkle. The reference to the Hagerty pricing was a surprise to me too. 16K for a #1 condition, $9,700 for a # 2 condition? Seems strong.

Thats a bit pricey for a resprayed car with missing moulding. Bring a trailer writer
doesn't know much about these cars or the values. A #1 condition car is virtually
new, as it came out of the showroom, this is not that. This car is what I think would
be called a #3 condition, drives well but has been modified and needs some work
but is a good 20 footer.
Looks like it has had an electronic dizzy swap but I can't tell for sure. That can is a mystery on
the passenger fender. Interior is nice. Needs more pictures.
Now this one is priced right, take a look: https://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/5304772663.html

Happy New Year everyone,
Got tired of driving FAST on vintage 1990 rubber, so I picked up new tires this past week (Falken Sincera SN828s). They're still available from Discount Tire in the stock tire size. Also, thanks to Stu Aull, I switched out my non-working stock clock for another one out of a '79 Cluster that Stu provided. New one works like a charm. Thanks again Stu! Here's a few pics of the new rubber installed!
