I got mine from there a few years ago and it has been working fine. I have an 80 SA. I think they are similar parts.

I did the return and rebuild service on my 79 this past winter/spring and was very happy with the results. Considering these are NLA, the 100 bucks or so to rebuild mine was worth it. Looks brand new (except for the rust pitting that it has). Check out my build thread for some before and afters if you want to see how well Prior did on mine.

Rear drums unattainable from all the sources I've tried.

Where did you have your rebuild done? Rock Auto? I've been trying to find a booster for my '85 GSL-SE and have had no luck. Rebuild may be my only option if I can even get someone to do that...

Yup, $100 on Rock Auto. It's a rebuild service, and mine was done by a company named Prior. Best $100 I've spent. Take a look at post #695 on my build thread (follow link in under my name) for some before and after pics. Mine was in very bad shape - rusty and crusty, but it came back looking almost new.

Is there a way to bench test the brake booster?

If you have a '79 get an 80 booster if you can hunt one down. Largest diameter that will fit without hitting the clutch master.
