5th Anniversary OGTA Meeting Pics 08-07-12

The 5th Anniversary OGTA Meeting was another fantastic one, with new young blood and lots of RX-8s.

Here's the FB group, all the more pretty for their scarcity:

Greg the Elder's Purple FB, looking good as usual:

Dean the Deer Slayer's mean black '83 GSL:

Jeremy's White FD was on the scene, more eye candy for the rotary inclined:

And of course Kristy's PrePro FC, which is, as she predicted several years ago, now attaining Antique status:

Here's the FE's, too numerous to count:

And of course the SkyActiv group (Flipper is currently returning 39.6 mpg overall, with the AC blasting):

At the Business Meeting we took on the serious business of who should get elected President and the clear consensus was it didn't matter, since whoever wins will be taken to the White House basement on Inauguration Day and 4 guys will explain to him how things are going to work, regardless of what he says, thinks or does.

Here's some of the Young Blood. That's Louis on the left and Dennis on the right. I have no idea where they came from or if they own a rotary, but if they don't I'm sure they will someday.

I wish one of the local meets I've tried following the last few years had this level of camaraderie and commitment.

All have pretty much dissolved at this point, and only one really ever seemed to get into the spirit of it.

The surviving LA meets I'm aware of are just too far away based on traffic to be practical for me to hit with any regularity.

Well nothing lasts forever and things have certainly changed over the years at the OGTA meetings - new people, newer cars and we haven't seen an Old School for awhile, but several members claim to be putting together REPU's, 2 and 3's - we'll see.

Location is always a problem, there are several folks in the Atlanta area who attend only occasionally because of the Atlanta traffic or a long drive that is prohibitive, like Tim and Robert and Michael. But it's always extra sweet when they do show up.

It used to be just about everybody had an SA or FB as a daily driver, now there are only a few of those diehards left. But as Tim says, it's a fine tradition and it will most likely continue for a few more years anyway, just more FE's and projects in the lot and fewer 12A daily drivers.
