3D Printed Armrest Power Window Switch/Coin Cup/Joystick
As many of you know, the Armrest Power Window Switch/Coin Cup/Joystick insert is notorious of breaking the tabs and never seating again. I replaced the factory stereo that had the joystick for a modern radio. I tried to keep the insert in place with double-sided tape and even magnets taped in. None of that worked. Just spent the last three weeks designing a new one. Here is how it works. There are two rails with very strong magnets that go on the bottom side. There are also two magnets that go into the main body. The cup or blanking plate slides in. There are also two "keepers" that keep the switches in. There are NO clips to break.
If anyone wants one, send me a PM.
Left side has the cup. Right side has the blanking plate.

These are cool, would you ever think about making one of these with just a drink cup holder, no switches or coin cup? Definitely would love one of those. I always just remove my top insert (some thin black plastic I cut) and just put a cup in the opening (hoping the cup is big enough to hold itself)

Yes - I'll make one and post it up. The raw opening is a little to small to even fit the small end of a Yeti. I'll make one as large as I can.

Do you have the files that you can share/sell? I print pretty frequently, so I'd be down to make some of my own!
I can't sell the file for this right now. I'm currently 3D printing and selling them. I'm kind of fond of this design because it's something I came up with to solve an issue I have with the factory part design.
I have the miata cup holder in my car but it never really fit right. So I started working on a more polished solution. I haven't gotten around to actually testing it so who knows what'll change in the future.

I wish I was as good as you at Fusion 360. I consider myself a hack. I spent hours buried in Fusion to do things some folks take minutes. Do you use the free version or paid? I refuse to buy it until I prove to myself I can be somewhat productive. Their yearly price is outrageous.
Hey Kansas, I'll send you the source so you can look through it and see if that helps you glean anything. I use the free version but I probably will inevitably subscribe if/when the day comes that I feel I need the extra features. From what I can tell they have a holiday sale but I haven't paid attention enough if their other seasonal sales are basically the same story or not. I should probably do that.
